Dosto, It has already been more than 2 weeks since the CSE mains ended, and I assume you must have started studying for forest mains now. Those who haven’t, please do not delay it any further. Most of us know that it’s these 2 months of study that have the most crucial role in our selection . Whether you have 1 optional common with CSE or both optionals new, it doesn’t matter, you have to start now and in full flow. Your vehicle should be moving at full throttle till the mains ends. And if history is a proof, whatever situation you are in now with respect to your preparation, you have a chance at qualification. It stands true also in CSE, and even more so in IFS examination. Every year many candidates who get selected are the ones who didn’t believe even after giving mains that they would get selected, leave alone having belief during preparation. And again if history is an indication, all of us will all feel stressed at this time, and anxious and in pressure and a significant number of us will constantly feel hopeless. And again and again if history is an indication, a good chunk of those ‘hopeless’ aspirants, who underwent though this stress, pressure and anxiety will get through to the final PDF. Please take this stress and hopelessness as a part of the process. I can only tell you from my experience that these moments of despair and desperation will become a part of your memory later on, whether you cross the line or not. Most of us have had to go through this and to be honest without this grind, do we even deserve to be on the other side. Sure, some of us have had to struggle a bit more than others, but such is the nature of life. It’s never fair and it has never been fair. Even after coming to service, the struggle will not end. Then it will become a struggle for cadre, then for posting, then for authority etc. Batchmates will become competitors, friends may become rivals. And it’s okay. But now is the struggle which bigger than all these struggles. Now is the struggle for life, the struggle to produce some output of the immeasurable quantum of input we all have given, be it in terms of efforts, or time, or money and resources. And let us not even count the quantum of sacrifice we have had to give to continue on our journey. Please, for the sake of all the efforts you have put in the previous months/years, don’t give up mid way. Fight though despair and hopelessness. Let yourself become a slave to the demand of the preparation in these coming 1.5 months. Let yourself be commanded by that to do what you need to do. 45-50 days is not a lot of time in the bigger scheme of life, yet its impact could be life-altering. As I have always believed, hope is the biggest force. Don’t give up your hope till the last minute of mains examination has ended. This ‘hope’ will fuel the vehicle of your preparation. I would be available at your disposal to be of any help that you may need or want. Just drop any question related to preparation here, that you want me to discuss with you on. I will try to help in whatever capacity I can. I may not always be useful, but atleast I will try to be. If the questions are of general nature, which can help us all, I will post a reply here. If they are specific to any aspirant, we will have a discussion through DM. All the very best dosto. Please continue the grind. PLEASE DON’T GIVE UP 🙏🏽 Your friend, Apurv.

Dosto, Only 3 suggestions I have to offer : 1. Don’t let paper 1 affect paper 2 performance. None of us will know what the cut off will be, or how much are we will be eventually scoring. 2. In CSAT, there would be enough easy and lower end of moderate level questions to help us paas 66.67 marks barrier. The only thing is that these questions will be distributed over the entire paper. So don’t remain stuck on 1 question for too long. If you have wasted 2 minutes on a question and it starts looking like a bit difficult one, there is no point wasting another 2 minutes on the same question. Anyways we have to score 33%, for which there would be enough easy and moderate questions. 3. Very importantly, Please don’t get tired in the break between paper 1 and paper 2. Most of have habit of sitting under the sun or continuously waking and calling our friends and family. We may or may not feel it, but it does produce some tiredness. And that is going to have effect in our performance in CSAT. After all, we are all humans and not a machine. Already, making our brain function at 100% energy level for 2 hrs on a hot mid-June afternoon is not easy. Let’s not create additional difficulties for our brain. Also if possible , have glucose just before entering the exam hall for CSAT paper. The instant boost of glucose level will help you concentrate for initial 10 minutes, after which you will automatically come in flow ( this I am saying only with my experience. It may or may not be same for everyone of us).

Dosto, all the very best for prelims. Let Calmness/composure + confidence + common sense ( the last one is probably the most important one) be your friend. I pray that both the Almighty and Luck be with you all tomorrow. My best wishes 🙂
