. Harald Sükar was the country manager of McDonald's - and has now written a book about his time at the company. His appeal is clear: Hands off fast food. He takes a hard line with the industry. "It's hardly surprising that fast food isn't necessarily healthy. But according to Harald Sükar, the burgers, fries and co. from Burger King or McDonald's are a disaster - for people and the environment. The man should know, after all, the manager was the head of McDonald's in Austria for years. Now he has written a book with a clear appeal: Hands off fast food! Sükar spoke to the Austrian Kurier. "Don't go there! Not to McDonald's. Not to Burger King. Not to the other fast food giants. And especially not with your children. Not even in exceptional cases," he warned. Sükar himself was a good customer of his employer. When he weighed around 110 kilos, he began to study healthy eating. He undertook studies. One of his findings: 19 diseases, including diabetes, arthritis and four different types of cancer, could be caused by unhealthy eating. The university in Montreal found that fast food damages the arteries and that regular consumption could result in heart attacks or strokes. Sweeteners, trans fats and a whole range of E additives act like drugs in the brain, says Sükar.
