The web series „Dolma Diaries“ was initiated by a group of civil society activists and television writers from the South Caucasus and Germany to counter resentment and enemy images in the region - particularly in the context of the Karabakh-conflict - with fictional story-telling and humor. In 2017 and 2018, we wrote a script for eight episodes with support from the German Foreign Office. After unsuccessful attempts to realize the production in 2019, Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung offered to support the shooting of the first episode in 2020. The unfortunate reality of the Second Karabakh war postponed the production, but in summer 2021, we went ahead and shot the episode in Berlin. It is based on a reworked script to avoid hurting people in the changed circumstances. Instead, we hope to contribute to a rapprochement of the people from three humor-loving nations.
