A new TIME investigation has found FB staff who hunt out violent and disturbing content make under two bucks an hour, while facing "mental torture".
The outsourced facility in Kenya moderates all of sub-Saharan Africa, and FB's lowest paid staff have to scroll through disturbing posts causing anguish and mental stress - as well as alleged intimidation from bosses.
The company Facebook has hired is Calfornia-based Sama, which reportedly has contracts with Microsoft, Google and Walmart. But the probe into the situation in Nairobi has found employees quitting from PTSD.
An investigation in 2014 by Wired uncovered a similar operation in the Philippines linking Facebook to grueling, underpaid moderation.

A BLM activist and columnist has been arrested in connection with firing a shot directly at Louisville mayoral candidate Craig Greenberg Monday. (Fox News)
Police say Quintez Brown was arrested and charged with attempted murder after he allegedly fired shots into Greenberg's office, narrowly missing him but grazing his sweater.
Brown was reportedly previously championed by MSNBC’s Joy Reid as a black student gun reform leader.
