The dangerous thing for me is to see creating content as "content" - which often led me to procastinate & not even do it well. Because it gives a more impersonal vibe to it, I am trying to something with an agenda in mind, and I expect some form of returns after. But when I do it from a space of actually wanting to add value, to help educate, inspire or entertain others, The entire process becomes easier, I do it more consistently, & I feel happier and energized doing it. Making money becomes a by product. In short, focus on how others can benefit instead of yourself only.

This “good advice” might sabotage you. In the past, I used to think more's better. Do more. Learn more. Execute more. Give more. Spend more. But through experience, I realised that QUALITY > QUANTITY. If you try to do everything, you won’t excel in anything. If you try to give as much as possible, you might overwhelm people (or burnout). If you try to take on many projects and priorities, you get nothing done. If you spend as much time as possible on something, you tend to waste it. Over time, I realised that less is usually more. Focus on learning from a few quality sources. Focus on a few key projects. Focus on spending as little time as possible for max results. Just found out a while ago that the legendary Kenneth Yu Kern San just passed away unexpectedly. We lost a great man today, someone who is not only full of brilliance, creativity, but also abundance to impact the world through his ideas as well. When I met him for lunch earlier this year, what really struck me was the fact that you could just feel how much fun & enjoyment he was having in life. Not just for business, but in the games he played, manga he was reading, our general conversations together, etc. He's someone I look up to for both mission & life, and Kenneth is someone who has left a legacy that I know will be remembered for years to come. And today, I am taking this as an important reminder to myself that just as Kenneth did, life is fragile and we should always look to live it to the fullest. Whether is it with our families, our friends, or even ourselves - good or bad day. My deepest condolences to Laura Kuimba Yu & everyone in Kenneth's family. The spirit of WYODC will live on. RIP Kenneth ❤

Not everyone will say yes to you. If you are emotionally affected each time someone says yes to you, You cannot expect to succeed. Because as one of my earliest sales mentors taught me, You are not actually paid for all the "Yes-es" you get. In fact, you are being paid for all the "Nos" you are willing to go through. Remember, rejection in business is as normal as needing water to survive. You just need to dust yourself off, learn from it, and keep moving forward. Everyone thinks they need the perfect “thing” to succeed. The perfect messaging. The perfect idea. The perfect product. The perfect words. From my ten years of experience…absolutely not. I don’t like relying on "willpower" or "motivation" at work… This simply means I don’t like the idea of hustling, grinding, and sacrificing what’s important in my life simply to make more money. Made a mistake yesterday (that I actually tell my clients NOT to do). During a 1-1 coaching call yesterday, I was too excited with providing value, teaching, sharing, and simply trying to provide as many strategies + tactics as possible. Bad mistake. At the end of the call, you could see that the other party would learnt & appreciated the lessons, But because I didn't go deeper on their problems, issues & deeper frustrations (but just on the surface), The WHY was not strong enough - and thus I believe there wont be much action taken. Reminder to myself that no matter how excited I am, Always address the other party's considerations first - even if they might want to learn the "secrets" ASAP as well. Success is 80% Psychology, 20% Strategy.
