🎼 Jamska Ivanka is a significant work in Slovenian cultural history, best known as the first Slovenian Singspiel. The piece was written by Miroslav Vilhar and published in Ljubljana in 1850. The music was composed by Jurij Schantl. One of the best-known songs from the work is the ‘Pesem svobode’ (Song of Freedom).
👌 In 2019, the Slovenian baritone Jure Počkaj and the Slovenian soprano Mojca Bitenc performed this song in an outstanding duet in Postojna, a town in south-western Slovenia famous for its stalactite caves.

🎼 Welsh opera singer Sir Bryn Terfel Jones is a bass-baritone trained at London's Guildhall School of Music and Drama, who made his operatic debut as Guglielmo (Così fan tutte) at the Welsh National Opera in 1990 and has since performed in the world's major concert halls.
👌 In his inimitably captivating way, Bryn Terfel performed the wonderful classic "Homeward Bound" by the American composer Marta Keen Thompson, who studied music at Texas Christian University, in the famous Royal Albert Hall.
In English, "homeward bound" is a fixed term for someone on the way home or fervently determined to get home. 🙏

🎨 Bengt Nordenberg (1822 – 1902) was a Swedish genre painter of the Düsseldorf School. Nordenberg, who began his apprenticeship with the painter Brodin in Sölvesborg at the age of twelve, had to drop out of the Stockholm Art Academy due to financial constraints. However, in 1846, he began again and soon successfully exhibited his first paintings. His motives breathe the spirit of rural ethnographic national romanticism.👌

🎨 Albert Anker (1831 – 1910) is considered one of the most important Swiss genre painters of his time, whose works remain relevant beyond his lifetime. Before he devoted himself entirely to painting and studying under Charles Gleyre, he studied theology. The figures in Anker's paintings are so focused on the respective simple activities that they almost seem like still lifes of people. In particular, the works featuring children and teenagers radiate a sense of extreme calm in our present age of sensory overload. 👌

🎼 Astor Piazzolla (1921–1992) was an Argentine composer and is considered the innovator of the Tango Nuevo, in which elements of classical music, often inspired by Bach, are integrated. "Oblivion" is a world-famous, deliberately melancholic classic belonging to this genre.
👌 Accompanied by the Symphony Orchestra of the Ljubljana Music and Ballet Conservatory, one of the most outstanding accordionists of our time, the exceptional Slovenian talent Teja Kovačič Udovič, gives this piece an almost indescribable grace. 🙏

🎼 Giuseppe Verdi's aria "Stride la vampa!" captivates audiences in his opera "Il trovatore" (The Troubadour), which premiered in Rome in 1853 and is part of his renowned "Trilogia popolare" with "Rigoletto" and "La traviata".
👌 The Polish opera singer Julia Nowikowska (mezzo-soprano/alto), who stands out for her versatility in opera, oratorio, and chamber music, also shines in this aria. Julia Nowikowska graduated from the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdansk as one of the top students.

🎼 "Addio, del passato" ("Farewell, past") from the third act of the opera La traviata (1853) by Giuseppe Verdi (1813–1901) is considered by many to be one of the most famous and emotional soprano arias in the history of opera. In this aria, the opera's central character, Violetta, who is suffering from tuberculosis, says goodbye to her dreams, her beauty, and her past life full of glamour and love. Nina Solodovnikova is in her performance not at all inferior to the great historical opera personalities in this role, such as Maria Callas or Montserrat Caballé. 🙏
👌 The young soprano, born in Moscow, Nina Solodovnikova, is a special-prize winner of the international Belvedere Hans Gabor singing competition. The young Russian talent graduated with honours from the Ippolitov-Ivanov Institute of Music and continued her studies at the Conservatorio "G. B. Martini" in Bologna. Nina Solodovnikova joined the Deutsche Oper Berlin ensemble in the 2024/25 season and became a permanent member in the 2025/26 season.

🎼 Annchen von Tharau is a German folk song by the East Prussian Baroque poet Simon Dach, first set to music in 1642, and it tells the story of Anna Neander, the daughter of the Tharau pastor. It was translated into Standard German by Johann Gottfried Herder and published in 1778 in the collection of texts "Stimmen der Völker in Liedern" (Voices of the Peoples in Songs).
The early deceased German opera genius Fritz Wunderlich (1930 – 1966) gifted the music world with one of the most wonderful performances of this romantic baroque song. In 1990, Luciano Pavarotti once described Fritz Wunderlich as the most outstanding tenor of all time. 👌

🎼 The Slovakian soprano Adriana Kučerová (born 24. (Born February 1976 in Lučenec) is among the best in her genre. She attended the National Conservatory of Music and Dance in Lyon and the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava. In 2001, Adriana Kučerová won the European Music Prize for Youth in Hamburg.
👌 The soprano aria with string accompaniment Ombra mai fu (it. "Never was a shadow") is one of the most famous melodies by George Frideric Handel from his 1733 opera Serse. Adriana Kučerovás performance lends this masterpiece a spiritual depth.

🌹HELENA WAS A WHITE BEAUTY!👌
Christopher Nolan's "Odyssey" film adaptation, set to hit the cinemas in June, is a multicultural propaganda piece that lacks authenticity in one of the most essential elements. According to historical sources, regardless of the question of a historical existence, the literary figure Helen must be imagined as a white woman, originating from the same cultural realm as the author and early poet of the Occident, Homer.👈
☝️Take for granted: I'm definitely NOT going to watch that film!

🎼 Gioachino Antonio Rossini (1792 – 1868) is one of the most important Italian opera composers, whose works are still part of the repertoire of major opera houses worldwide. He represents the transition from late classicism to early romanticism. Rossini's last of his 39 operas, "Guillaume Tell", which premiered on the 3. It was first performed in Paris in August 1829 and is based on Friedrich Schiller's drama of freedom.
👌 No less than the master of the so-called Bel canto opera, Gaetano Donizetti, described the second act of "Guillaume Tell" as "written by God". The aforementioned act takes place on the Rütli plateau, overlooking Lake Lucerne, where the so-called Rütlischwur was sworn, in which everyone assures to fight for the freedom of the fatherland until death. The finale of "William Tell" is one of the most famous and powerful moments in music history.

🎼 The Italian composer Giuseppe Mulè (1885–1951) was not only a conductor, composer and music teacher, but also national secretary of the fascist musicians' union, which did not detract from his artistic talent. In addition to six operas, he composed several symphonic suites and the music for several ancient tragedies for the Greek theatre in Syracuse.
👌 Taormina is a one-act work by Giuseppe Mulè that premiered on 4 April 1938 at the Casinò Municipale in Sanremo. The work is described as a ‘Sicilian triptych’ that captures the atmosphere and landscapes of Sicily. Taormina is a hilltop town near Mount Etna on the east coast of Sicily, a popular tourist destination for its picturesque landscape and numerous historical sights.👈

🎼 Typical Germans are said to have a special affinity for the Romantic era. The Romance Op. 28 No. 2 in F sharp major by German composer Robert Schumann (1810–1856) is one of the most famous short piano pieces of the Romantic period, and Schumann is considered one of its most important composers.
❤️ It was composed in 1839 as a Christmas present for his fiancée, Clara Wieck, later his wife Clara Schumann, who praised it as a ‘beautiful love duet’ because of its double melody lines. It was the last piece of music that Clara Schumann – herself a talented pianist and composer – heard on her deathbed in 1896, played by her grandson. 🕯🙏
🎹 Let us immerse ourselves in this musical romance with Maria Semeraro, a talented Italian classical pianist whose academic background encompasses not only music but also philosophy.

Is Ancient Greek completely extinct? – Maybe not…
In a few remote villages in Calabria and Apulia, a small number of locals still speak Grekaniko or Griko, a language strongly influenced by Byzantine Middle Greek, with vocabulary, syntax, and verb forms that point to the Ancient Greek of the 7th century BC.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LSktx_kr4ww
Romeyka is a dialect still spoken by a small language group in remote mountain villages in the Pontus Mountains on the Turkish Black Sea coast and is considered a living bridge to the ancient Attic Greek due to its characteristics.

Tsakonian, the sound of the Spartans, so to speak, is a Greek language that emerged from the ancient Doric dialect and is still spoken in a few villages in the Peloponnese, in Laconia and Arcadia.

New on Beyond Collapse: Why Arguments Don't Work
Developmental psychology shows that human consciousness moves through distinct stages — and that most people, regardless of intelligence or education, process political questions through group identity.
"What is true?" becomes "What does my team say is true?"
This has consequences. For democracy. For nationalism. For anyone who thinks the right argument will eventually win.
The essay explores Integral Theory, the Frankfurt School's pivot from economics to culture, and why the national movement must avoid its own version of the same trap.
