In this GIMP Photo Manipulation tutorial, I show you how to composite multiple photos together to create a monochrome collage - or in other words a collage based on a single color (purple). Yes, believe it or not this was done entirely with free photo editing software and free stock photos. I show you how to remove an image background, combined and blend multiple photos together, add shape and line graphics, and colorize your photo using the same color scheme throughout. This tutorial is made using GIMP 2.10.18, the latest version of GIMP at the time of this tutorial. I go through the steps for this digital art tutorial in a way beginners should be able to understand and follow. Visit our website for more text and video tutorials:

In this GIMP photo editing tutorial, I show you how to recolor your photos using a combination of background erasing methods and layer modes. With these methods, you can change the color of anything in your photos - including clothing, backgrounds, objects, etc. In this photo specifically, I change the color of a dress and the background. I use a combination of the foreground select tool, paths tool, free select tool, and one of 4 possible layer modes for recoloring photos. The layer modes used in this tutorial include HSV Hue, HSL Color, LCh Hue, and LCh Color. This is a great photo editing and photo manipulation tutorial for beginners! Learn how to properly use the Curves Tool in GIMP! This powerful free photo editor can make blah photos look amazing - and the techniques I show you in the tutorial are broken down for beginners to understand. Using the curves tool, you'll be able to adjust the value of your image (i.e. brightness and contrast), as well as color correct the image. This tool uses a histogram to display pixel values and a linear curve to edit those values. Finally understand the complex curves tool and add it to your arsenal of photography tools! https://www.instagram.com/zakeydesign/One of the lesser known features of GIMP is its ability to create animations. In this tutorial I’ll be demonstrating how to create animated GIFs with GIMP so that you can create your own simple animations. This lessen in particular will be a demonstration of how you can create a simple loading spinner icon. However, once you understand the process for creating animations, you should be able to apply these principles to your own designs. Want to learn more about how GIMP works? Check out The GIMP Series - a comprehensive collection of over 60 videos where I go over all of the major tools, features and functions in GIMP and explain what they are and demonstrate how they work.
