Few Things for Tomorrow. There is sectional timing and sectional cutoff for each section. The first section will be General Awareness. It could be easy, or it could surprise you with a lot of static-based questions. Don’t take blind guesses or over-attempt. 35–40 good attempts are far better than 50 attempts with multiple guesses. You have 25 minutes for 80 questions in GA, which means around 20 seconds per question. Some questions will not be doable, so leave them immediately. That means your effective time per serious question becomes around 30–40 seconds. Your aim should be to reach till Q.80 without getting stuck, solve all the doable questions, and mark for review the ones you may want to revisit later. Remember, the paper is divided into multiple sets, so your set of easy questions could be in the beginning, middle, or end—they are placed randomly. For Quant and Reasoning - Don't start right away, give first 2 min to locate all the questions that you want to do and note down the Q.No in rough sheet and then start solving them, your first Priority is to get at least 30% marks in these two section. Each section is a fresh start. Since you need to clear all sections, if one section goes good or bad, don’t carry that emotion into the next section. Move into every section with a fresh mind. It is easier said than done, but you must do it—otherwise the next section may cost you selection. I can share my own experience. In one of my PO Mains exams, Reasoning did not go well. English came after that, and English used to be my strong section. But because I kept thinking about Reasoning, I performed poorly in English too, and missed the final list by just 2–3 marks. It was not Reasoning but English that cost me the result. Similarly, in one RBI Prelims attempt, I did well in the first three sections and got overexcited. Then Quant came last, and I completely messed it up. The point is don’t repeat these mistakes. They can cost you an entire year. Simple message: Don’t panic. Don’t become overconfident. Stay calm. Enjoy the paper—even if it is difficult, it is difficult for everyone. Consider this as last message before exam, don't want to put lots of message to create unnecessary pressure.
