It must be the account I was locked out of back in 2019 - those cheeky devils never even notified me that they accepted my film - and who knows where any and all of the royalty payments are going... I want to share this clip to show the impact each of us can have - sometimes without even realizing it! From my perspective, as the maker of the film "The Hemp Road Trip", the film was a failure - as it was rejected by every single film festival we paid to submit it to... We had to organize our own tour of screenings, using the list of activists we'd met around the country while making the film - and all ticket sales went to the local activists who organized the screenings... However - the IMPACT (apart from having our bank accounts frozen) was that we shifted federal law in the USA - and - we inspired activists around the world! I have the pleasure of working with Kyle on a new documentary that I hope to finish soon - and this is one of the most arduous journeys of my entire life - but the film is worth the effort! Here, my wife and I felt our efforts were a failure, but the true fruits of our labors didn't ripen for many years afterward. With great power comes great responsibility, and knowledge is power - therefore, as we inform ourselves, it is our duty to inform others also. Before I started Carbon Capture Shield, I founded a nonprofit Cannabis Education Foundation, created an award-winning documentary film and used that to empower a grassroots movement that got Hemp legalized federally in the US back in 2018... Continuing that mission - to free this amazingly beneficial plant - I am proud to share the trailer for my next film: Green Gold. This film follows the Scottish Hemp Association and a group of activists across the UK as they work to legitimize this plant - which still suffers from stigmas of the last century. The Dawn of Interdependence: Navigating Our Global Growing Pains In a world rife with conflict, environmental degradation, and social inequality, it's easy to feel overwhelmed. Yet, what if we reframed our current challenges as 'growing pains'? As the world grapples with unprecedented changes, we are, in essence, experiencing the adolescence of human consciousness. The Age of Revelation We are entering the 'Age of Aquarius,' an era marked by the uncovering of new knowledge. The term 'Apocalypse'—often associated with end times—actually means 'revelation' or 'uncovering.' This is a period of collective awakening, where the unconscious becomes conscious. From "I am that I am" to "I am because of you" Traditional religious and philosophical frameworks often emphasize individuality and separation—"I am that I am." However, as we evolve, this mantra must transform into "I am because of you," acknowledging our interdependence with all life forms. The Declaration of Interdependence In June 2021, Carbon Capture Shield made its first social media post, a "Declaration of Interdependence." This declaration is a call to action, urging us to shift from a mindset of domination to one of stewardship. It recognizes that all life is interconnected and that we have a moral and ethical responsibility to act as protectors rather than plunderers. Current World Events as Growing Pains Whether it's the Israel-Palestine conflict, climate change, or social unrest, these are not isolated incidents but symptoms of a collective psyche in turmoil. They are our 'growing pains,' urging us to mature from independence to interdependence. The Path Forward As stewards, we have the obligation to protect all life, recognizing that where we go one, we go all.
