Another day, another cartoon blocked in India on the Modi govt’s orders. And, as always, I’m posting it again.
And look at how Instagram notifies you. The message is buried in your notifications. If you happen to see it, you see it. If you miss it, you miss it. Censorship, quietly tucked away.
PM Modi calls India the “mother of democracy”. Yet, criticism is being silenced. This is not how the mother of democracy behaves. This is how an authoritarian regime does.

Modi govt has had one of my posts on X blocked in India.
X has informed me that it received a blocking order from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology under Section 69A of the IT Act, 2000.
The notice does not specify what exactly is objectionable in the post.
If anyone can explain what part of this post warrants a government blocking order, I’d genuinely like to know.
Apparently, every post needs clearance now.
