In Frankfurt (state of Hesse) first protests erupt about elections in the state of Saxony-Anhalt: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNJN7Qq-geQ

Voter turnout: 80% According to the first projections, the AfD is just one seat short of a majority. However, this is only a projection, not an election result. An election projection is an estimate of the likely outcome based on partial results, polling data, and statistical models. It can change as more votes are counted and does not represent the final result.

There are rumors german chancellor Friedrich Merz could resign today... his disapproval rating: 87%! The first election results will come in over the next few minutes.

The polling stations are still open for just under an hour, and voter turnout has already surpassed 68%.

Tomorrow, there will be elections in the German state of Lower Saxony. The AfD has a really good chance of winning a majority and making a difference. If they don't get a majority, the only other option would be a four-party coalition, which would probably fall apart shortly afterwards, since three of the parties are left-wing and Antifa-supporters. One of them is essentially the successor to the GDR's former ruling party, the SED - the party that supported the socialist state and whose regime shot at people trying to leave the country. Antifa has already announced plans to storm the state parliament and carry out an "action week" targeting infrastructure such as energy, gas, railways, and so on. Their "protests" started today: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4Gmx2y0QJ0
