👉🏻 In July 2026, Sarnath, an ancient Buddhist site near Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, was declared India's 45th UNESCO World Heritage Site.
👉🏻 This historic decision was taken during the 48th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee held in Busan, South Korea.
👉🏻 Sarnath is the sacred place where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon (called the Dharmachakra Pravartan) after attaining enlightenment.
