There are days when I shut out and want to completely disassociate into millions of pieces. But also, there are days when I am overwhelmed with the beauty of the world and want to set out on a walk and never stop. Witness the beautiful smiles,the kindness,the faces I so much adore,all of the beauty around me,a beauty I can't explain in words. It was always a struggle to me,to speak the words out before they disappear from the tips of my mouth. But again today I will try and I will say children. I will say rainbow. I would tell how a relieving experience it is to watch a hard working person brush off the sweat from his face. I would say the wrinkles on the faces of the old woman passing blessings to me. I would say my mother brushing off the tears from my eyes and stroking my hair to sleep.I would say the cooperation,the love, the strive of trying to be better than yesterday. The girl from the side of the street brushing off her beautiful luscious hair. The beggar looking at me in a sad way and me looking back with pity and an empty pocket. My heart that breaks watching the homeless tremble and shake with coldness piercing his skin. My skin that survived the torture of a blade. My knuckles that scream out of pain witnessing as my teeth carve its prints on them. And somedays which have become rare days...the beauty of my body I despised and hated and loathed all my life. And also...and also my heart...my lonely heart,that has survived what no human can handle. My heart that breaks and mends day to day nonstop. My heart that loves despite the pain it has lived through and constantly wait for the day someone looks at it and loves its whole nakedness. I will say that and that will be the most beautiful thing ever scriptured. -Yeab T🌬

The misogyny I witness everyday is beyond the threshold of my brain. I was never an aggressive feminist because I had no idea what it was about nor gave time to read about it but now I do understand the healthy definition of the term👇🏾 Feminism: belief in and advocacy of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes expressed especially through organized activity on behalf of women's rights and interests. This is the right definition of feminism and it doesn’t require for you to be a woman to support it. But please it’s not about hating men cause what even is that behavior. Men in our society are portrayed as strong, intelligent, wealthy and if they’re found to be anything less everyone’s out to downgrade their morals. Because of this most men loathe women and think they’re favored more than them. No one’s favored more, we just like to feed our victimized mindsets. As a woman I’ve had my own share of being slapped with misogynistic minds and being a victim of men who think a certain genitalia between their legs gives them authority over a woman but women are not favored more. Our sides of stories and amounts of sufferings we faced because of our sex in our society defer and I can’t say either of us has had it better or worse. The disgusting truth? Again for the reason above men prefer to defend a potential abuser/ rapist rather than listen to a survivor’s story and be on her side. They worry about their reputation and “image” more than the life they’ve destroyed and the severe traumas they’ve caused! Seek help if you think misogyny makes you intelligent, educate yourself and stop using your trauma clouded head and start thinking like a person who has a sensible brain.

Every morning remind yourself you’re strong to fight whatever that comes your way and even if you don’t find it in you to keep going, get your legs moving anyways🖤

Even though the way the brains of some people operates makes mine hurt and baffles me I usually choose not to address it, considering I would hurt their feelings. But it has come to my understanding that our different perspectives and insights exist for a reason, so we could right the wrong and voice out the truth. No! You're not right about everything so humble yourself and listen more, read more and research more before you speak up about something you know nothing of. Take interest in constructive conversations and arguments, because they'll help you enhance the scope of your understanding and the way you see things. But this doesn't mean you should refrain from discussing issues because you haven't read all the books in the world, start sharing with the little you know and educate yourself more as you go.

Election Day? How are we feeling about this? I'm pretty nervous lol Praying for a better and democratic Ethiopia as we vote. Go vote and make your voices heard🙂
