The concept of financialization of savings and hence lower deposits in banks is very flawed and people who do not understand how money moves in economy will talk as if stock market investments has led to fall in deposits. Please understand, when u take money from ur account and do any share market transaction (IPO or secondary market) it eventually ends up in another bank account of any other bank in system ( broker account, selling shareholder account, or company account in case of IPO) Hence aap ye baat completely bhul jaiye ki high deposit cost is due to financialization of savings. The moment money starts moving out of system ( either due to higher US rates, or central bank tightening) the money available in system keeps going down and hence deposits start chasing higher yield. An important point to understand about bank savings and stock market investments. An interesting read from - https://twitter.com/EkanshMittal_KW/status/1788489576383692944 How to screen for turnaround opportunities that may end up performing quite well Look for Preferential allotment of warrants to Promoters in cos. in which there's been a decent correction in stock price (40-50% or more) Let's look at a case - Ashapura Minechem - From FY 16 till FY 20, company's sales and profits were dropping year after year - Sales had decreased from 1,700 crore + to only Rs 334 crore and stock had fallen from 113 odd levels in Jan'18 to 17 odd levels in Jul'19 - On 7th Jan'20, company announced that a meeting of Board of Directors will be held on 10th Jan'20 to consider allotment of 45 lakh Preferential warrants to Promoters. In Jan'20, the stock was quoting around 30 odd levels - On 28th Feb'20, the company allotted 45 lakh convertible warrants @ Rs 31.95/- each to Promoters - At that time, while there was no sight of turnaround in business, it was still an interesting event as Promoters were willing to take a bet despite the business being down - While FY 20 ended with just Rs 334 crore sales, in FY 21, the sales increased to Rs 1,148 crore - Probably, the promoters were anticipating a turnaround in the business and thus opted for convertible warrants at Rs 31.95/- each - The markets also turned supportive and the stock went up to 150 odd levels by Apr'21 - After recording a high of around 165 odd levels in Apr'22, the stock again started correcting and reached lows of 75 odd levels in Dec'22 - On 28th Dec'22, company announced that a meeting of Board of Directors will be held on 2nd Jan'23 to consider allotment of 40.4 lakh Preferential warrants to Promoters - On 14th Feb'23, the company allotted 40.4 lakh convertible warrants @ Rs 95.96/- each to Promoters - Markets again turned favorable and the stock touched a high of 450 in Dec'23 and currently trading around 315 odd levels There might be many cases where the business and the stock may not have done well, post allotment of warrants to promoters during low phase. However, the idea is, screening for such stocks can be a good starting point for further research and to catch the turnaround stage early Disclosure: I am SEBI Registered Research Analyst No recommendation or holding in the stock. From - https://twitter.com/vineetjain1101/status/1788414842325409921 Think of all work as a ladder. Step 1: Manual and repetitive Step 2: Manual and non repetitive Step 3: Cognitive and repetitive Step 4: Cognitive and non repetitive Technology has already automated almost all of Step 1. It has begun to automate parts of Step 2 and most of 3 too. But the recent advances in AI have made it abundantly clear that many Step 4 jobs will also soon be automated. This is an irreversible process and the world is not prepared for it. All the talk that new jobs will get created is shallow - AI has reached the highest Step of the ladder. Prepare for a world where inequalities will increase further and stay ahead of the curve. This brilliant video series by Ajay Sharma is an absolute much watch!

👆🏼Forwarding a little discussion about managements.

As a tip, I have always said one thing - Has the management given guidance/promises in the past and have they managed to execute accordingly? Wabag is not the best in terms of execution but still better than many other managements in general. Of course, there are factors like Covid and real world issues that always get in the way but accounting for all of that, Wabag management has kept a decent pace of execution. We can always look at the history of the top individuals or the general skills / qualifications etc. but the best indicator is have they ever promised something and then delivered. If they have not ever promised something (microcaps may not do concalls) - do they announce when they get deals and then manage to successfully conclude these deals that they get and execute it - get repeat deals etc. In other businesses where there may not be deals and companies maybe too small to do concalls/announcements - look at the quality of their product or their clientele and see how long they have been serving these clients. These are all signs of management quality.

In India we have 'we will hold stocks for ever investors' born every minute. In the meantime, Warren Buffett has average holding period of 4 yrs 3 months and has completely exited 63 pisitions since 2010 while his two designated heirs have average holding period of 2 yrs 10 months and exited 48 stocks. Which also means that they have owned much more than 100 stocks since 2010 Source - https://twitter.com/Iamsamirarora/status/1785911179585683549

According to me, this is not a longer term negative. The management is capable enough to overcome this and come back to a moderate growth path. For those holding longer term, this is possibly an opportunity to add.

2 days old now 🚨RBI takes action on Kotak Mahindra Bank RBI IT department inspected CBS and online banking systems and found frequent outages. As a result, Kotak Mahindra Bank will now cease to onboard customers from online and mobile banks RBI also bans new onboarding of credit cards . Sentimental negative for Kotak. Anyway they are not too big on credit cards, So doesn't make much difference Good move by the RBI. This is a warning to all banks to invest properly in digital infrastructure. On a lighter note, If RBI had visited HDFC Banks net banking Pata nahi kya hota RBI is giving "Shakti" to the entire banking sector
