Also Adding Nifty 24250PE 5th may in watchlist
Structure is signalling buying trap
Price closing above 24230-250 range in Nifty will clear the bullish way.
Right now it's a no trade zone between 24250-24000
*PS*:- Are you observing the ranges and spread of prices? It is normal at present times to have a ranging span of 150-200 points for intraday. Read this article where this evolution is explained:- https://www.absoluteanalytics.in/pulse//indian-stock-market-evolution-2015-2026
A minimal gap open in Nifty as pee pre-market stats
Major support 24000
Sensex:-
It shall be neutral to rangebound.
76200 is strong support and 77100 is strong resistance
Shall be closing in between this mostly (as on 11:52am)
Currently it is near resistance. It shall be filling gap once it breaks the 77100 resistance

*Indian Market*
Nifty closed at 24,177 yesterday, up 182 points. It was a good recovery session led by Auto, FMCG and Defence. But the index gave back about 157 points from its high of 24,334, which tells me the supply zone at 24,300 to 24,400 is still very much alive. Bank Nifty barely moved despite Nifty’s recovery — that divergence is worth watching today.
*Global Cues*
Dow fell 280 points. S&P and Nasdaq ended largely flat. The Fed held rates steady as expected. This was likely Powell’s last press conference as chair — Kevin Warsh has been confirmed as the next Fed head. After market close, Meta fell 7% on disappointing user growth. Alphabet beat estimates. Amazon results were mixed. This will weigh on Indian IT names at open today.
*Commodities*
Brent crude settled at $118.80, up nearly 7% overnight. Trump confirmed the Iran naval blockade stays until a nuclear deal is done. Strait of Hormuz remains closed. This is the single biggest risk factor for Indian markets today. Gold slipped 0.9% as rising crude revives inflation fears and pushes rate cut hopes further out.
*FII and DII*
FIIs sold Rs 2,468 crore on 29 April. DIIs bought Rs 2,262 crore. For the month of April, FIIs have now sold over Rs 59,600 crore. DIIs have been the only reason the market has not broken 23,800. Watch if FII selling pace picks up today.
*What to Watch Today*
Crude at $118 is the headline risk. OMCs, aviation and paint stocks will feel the pressure at open. Meta’s fall will drag sentiment in IT. On the results side, Hindustan Unilever, Adani Enterprises and Bajaj Finserv report today. HUL numbers will set the tone for FMCG. US GDP data releases tonight which could move global markets tomorrow.
*Opening View*
I am watching this as a cautious day. GIFT Nifty is flat to slightly negative. The setup does not favour chasing any move at open. Will wait for the first 15 minutes to settle. If Nifty holds 23,950, there is a case for range trading. If it slips below that, the next support comes in only around 23,700. On the upside, 24,300 remains a strong resistance until it is taken out with conviction.
Sectors I like today: Auto, Defence, upstream oil names.
Sectors to avoid: OMCs, Aviation, IT.
