🔆 REMINDER: EOSINOPHILIC ESOPHAGITIS 🔹Patients with eosinophilic esophagitis have swallowing difficulty, food impaction, and heartburn. Look for a history of asthma and allergic diseases. 🔹Endoscopy shows multiple concentric rings. The most accurate test is a biopsy finding eosinophils. 🔹The best initial treatment is PPIs and the elimination of allergenic foods. If no response, swallowing steroid inhalers will allow for the topical use of steroids.
