This is a OPSC PRELIMINARY QUESTION conducted recently. This is a good example of how Geography questions can be asked indirectly in CAPF. For CAPF AC, don’t prepare ports just by memorising locations. Link them with their functional type + economic activity + strategic location. From this question, revise: Oil ports → Maracaibo, Venezuela Entrepot ports → Rotterdam Ports of Call → Kochi Naval/strategic ports → Aden 👉 CAPF takeaway: While studying World Geography, make small linkages around major ports, straits, canals, chokepoints, resources and trade routes. UPSC can easily turn a simple location-based topic into a matching or statement-based question. So, one question like this = revise ports + trade + oil geography + maritime strategy together. That’s the CAPF approach.

The Two Stones A sculptor once found two stones lying beside the road. He took both to his workshop. With the first stone, he started carving. Every strike of the hammer hurt. After a few blows, the stone said, “Enough. I can't take this anymore.” So the sculptor left it aside. He picked up the second stone and kept working. Days passed. Hundreds of strikes. Dust everywhere. But the stone stayed there. Months later, the sculptor finished a beautiful statue. People came from far away to see it. The first stone watched everything and thought, “Why did he choose that stone and not me?” The answer was simple. Both stones had the same potential. Only one was willing to stay through the process. Your preparation may be painful right now. Some days you will feel tired, frustrated and unsure of yourself. But don't walk away just because the process is difficult. The same pressure that feels unbearable today may be shaping the version of you that you always wanted to become. Stay with the process. Your turn will come. 🇮🇳

ISRO to phase out launch vehicles, Madhavan Nair questions govt’s intent to privatise https://www.thenewsminute.com/news/newsisro-to-phase-out-launch-vehicles-madhavan-nair-questions-viability 🚀 Why this article matters for CAPF aspirants Don’t read this only as a space-tech news. Look at the bigger picture. 📌 Paper 1 ISRO & India’s launch vehicles — PSLV, GSLV/LVM3, SSLV Space sector privatisation and role of private players IN-SPACe, NSIL & space-sector reforms S&T + commercialisation + strategic autonomy 📌 Paper 2 The key angle is National Security: How much of a strategic sector like space should be privatised? Can private participation improve efficiency without compromising security and strategic control? Balance between innovation, commercialisation and national interest. 👉 Simple approach: Whenever you see ISRO + privatisation, connect it with S&T + National Security + Atmanirbhar Bharat + PPP.

For CAPF AC aspirants, don’t treat the EPFO/APFC syllabus as an entirely new syllabus. A large part overlaps with what you are already preparing. How to approach it: Polity & Governance: Use your CAPF Polity preparation as the base. Focus additionally on labour laws, social security and governance institutions. Economy: Your CAPF Economy preparation covers the fundamentals. Add Indian economy trends, employment, labour market and social-sector issues. History & Culture: Revise your CAPF Modern History, Art & Culture and Freedom Movement preparation rather than starting afresh. Science & Computer: Cover basic concepts + important applications and current developments. Keep it practical, not overly technical. Maths, Statistics & Mental Ability: Regular practice is the key. These are scoring areas if you maintain speed and accuracy. Industrial Relations & Labour Codes: This is the major new/extra area. Give it focused preparation—labour codes, trade unions, wages, social security and industrial relations. Accountancy, Auditing & Insurance: Treat this as a separate module. Build basic concepts first and then practise MCQs. Current Affairs: Integrate it with static subjects, especially economy, labour, social security, governance and international developments. English: Since CAPF already demands language proficiency, continue your existing preparation and add exam-specific practice. The key strategy: Don't restart your UPSC preparation for EPFO/APFC. Leverage CAPF preparation, identify the new areas, and devote your additional time to Labour + Accountancy/Auditing/Insurance + Statistics.
