| 2 | Today we took another important step in strengthening Primary Health Care in Kisumu County with the launch of tablets for our Community Health Assistants.
Digital health is no longer about computers in hospitals—it is about ensuring that the right information reaches the right person at the right time. By equipping our Community Health Assistants with digital tools, we are strengthening supportive supervision, improving data quality, enhancing referrals, and enabling faster, evidence-based decision-making at the community level.
Beyond strengthening primary healthcare, these digital tools will also support the integration of mental health into community health services by improving early identification, referral, follow-up, and the quality of data needed to plan and invest in better services. Quality data is the foundation of responsive, people-centred healthcare.
Kisumu has consistently been at the forefront of digital health innovation in community health, from pioneering the implementation of eCHIS to building integrated Primary Care Networks. Today’s launch is another milestone in our journey towards a smarter, more connected, and people-centred health system.
I thank H.E. Governor Prof. Anyang’ Nyong’o, the Ministry of Health, Living Goods, Johnson & Johnson, AMREF, our other development partners, and our dedicated community health workforce for their continued commitment to transforming healthcare in Kisumu.
Together, we are building a future where quality healthcare begins at the household, no one is left behind—including those living with mental health conditions—and every decision is driven by timely, reliable data.

| 5 | CELEBRATING EXCELLENCE IN COMMUNITY HEALTH SERVICE DELIVERY.
The Migori County Department of Health Services proudly celebrates another milestone in community health. Through the support of the County Government of Migori and our valued development partners, we continue to strengthen Community Health Promoters (CHPs) and Community Health Units across all eight sub-counties through capacity building in household service delivery, commodity management, and electronic reporting.
Over the past 20 weeks, the Ministry of Health has been recognizing outstanding Community Health Promoters during the weekly National CHPs' Virtual Assembly. During the 20th Assembly held on 20th July 2026, Ageng'a Community Health Unit in Nyatike Sub-County was recognized as the Best Community Health Unit in Kenya, while Ms. Julita Apiyo was named the Best Community Health Promoter nationally.
These national awards reflect the dedication, professionalism, and commitment of our community health workforce. We congratulate Ageng'a Community Health Unit, Ms. Julita Apiyo, and all Community Health Promoters across Migori County for their tireless efforts in delivering quality primary health care at the household level.
The County Government of Migori remains committed to strengthening community health by providing a supportive working environment, enhancing capacity, and ensuring timely payment of CHPs' stipends.

Makueni Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr. on Monday flagged off 385 bicycles for Community Health Promoters (CHPs) in Thange, Ivingoni-Nzambani, Kikumbulyu South and Kikumbulyu North wards to improve mobility and strengthen the delivery of healthcare services across the county. Speaking at the Mother and Child Hospital, Governor Mutula said CHPs are the first point of contact within communities and often traverse difficult terrain to reach households.
He noted that the bicycles would enable them to cover more homes, improve response time and enhance the quality of healthcare services at the community level. The governor said the bicycles were prioritized during last financial year's public participation forums in the four wards, and encouraged other wards to prioritise similar initiatives in future budget planning. | 70 |

Dr. Maureen Kimani:
1. The highest reached attendees is 900.

3. The CHP of the week is chosen Monday to Sunday, and how many people you assessed.
4. When we started only 26,000 CHPs were active. - Now we have 75,000 active CHPs
5. 30,000 CHPs still inactive now. - For 100%
6. Households coverage increased to 32%.
7. Every month 54,000 new people registered on eCHIS since CHP Assembly started. - Since February 2026
8. Only 30,000,000 Kenyans are currently on eCHIS.
9. We should add the unregistered on eCHIS.

Since devolution MOH hasn't employed PHOs na PHOs there retire without replacement.
MOH doesn't hire CHAs.
Even UHC CHAs are being transferred to counties.
Even KEMRI hires CHWs and can only take CHAs as Researchers or Research Assistants only.
You are better to be a MOH employee by transferring skills in their programs which don't do mass hiring.
Na loud CHAs rarely gets jobs. - And when they do they go silent
Engage PS on things her or DCH can do. - Like policy or CPGs ...
