وَهَذَا عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ قَرَأَ سُورَةَ الطُّورِ إِلَى أَنْ بَلَغَ: {إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ لَوَاقِعٌ} [سُورَةُ الطُّورِ: 7] ʿUmar Ibnul-Khattaab (may Allaah be pleased with him) was reciting Surat At-Tuur, until he reached the following Words of Allaah: {Verily, the Torment of your Lord will surely come to pass.} [Al-Quraan 52:7], فَبَكَى وَاشْتَدَّ بُكَاؤُهُ حَتَّى مَرِضَ وَعَادُوهُ. And he began to weep. His weeping increased until he became ill and people used to visit him due to his illness.
