Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir verhöhnt gefesselte und kniende Gaza-Hilfsaktivisten der Global Sumud Flotilla – darunter zahlreiche EU-Bürger. Ben-Gvir selbst hat das Video auf X gepostet. Die Flotte wollte humanitäre Hilfe nach Gaza bringen, die Gaza-Blockade durchbrechen und wurde in internationalen Gewässern abgefangen.
Italiens Ministerpräsidentin Giorgia Meloni reagiert scharf:
> „Die Bilder des israelischen Ministers Ben-Gvir sind inakzeptabel.“
> „Es ist unzulässig, dass diese Demonstranten – darunter viele italienische Staatsbürger – einer Behandlung ausgesetzt werden, die ihre menschliche Würde verletzt.“
> „Italien fordert eine formelle Entschuldigung und arbeitet auf höchster Ebene auf die sofortige Freilassung der italienischen Bürger hin.“
Studien (z. B. The Lancet Global Health, Februar 2026) schätzen die Zahl der getöteten Palästinenser auf über 75.000. Dazu kommen Tausende indirekte Tote durch Krankheiten, Unterernährung, fehlende medizinische Versorgung etc.
Nach Einschätzung von UN, WHO, Oxfam und vielen Hilfsorganisationen trägt die Blockade von Gaza maßgeblich dazu bei, dass die Lage für die Zivilbevölkerung lebensbedrohlich bleibt – auch nach einer teilweisen Waffenruhe.
