The Polytechnic of Turin stands alongside the women and men in Iran who are courageously protesting against the violation of fundamental human rights and undergoing violent repression, which also affects universities. After joining the message of solidarity that the Network of Italian Universities for Peace expressed towards the Iranian students enrolled in our universities and those who are demonstrating in these days in Iran, the Politecnico joins the many voices that are raised to support the protests and to condemn the oppression of Iranian women systematically persecuted by the "Moral Police", the killing of Masha Amini and Hadis Najafi, the blocking of the Internet, the repression of demonstrations which has resulted in hundreds of deaths and arrests. Freedom, justice and respect for diversity are the cornerstones of our community. We express our full closeness to those in Iran who struggle, even at the cost of their lives, to defend these values.
