Ordinarily, if it's just about emails, you may need 10 to 15years to fill up 15gb of email space "based on the amount of emails the average person receives". Having said that; you must know that Google allocates 15gb of space to every Google account on the free mode. It is sufficient enough to not even let you know gmail has some paid pro plans where you get to enjoy business level benefits. So, this 15gb serves you across different Google platforms. Google Drive, Sheets, forms, photos, etc. and a lot of people have auto update on their phones without knowing. Meaning, some of your pictures and videos get uploaded to Google photos as back up, and take up part of your 15gb space. so if you keep deleting emails from now till tomorrow, it will most likely fill up again in one week or so. this is because you haven't tackled it from the root cause. You need to delete files that you don't need anymore, from your Google drive and Google photos (which also saves in your Google drive". and also stop the auto back up on your android Google photos app. this way, you solve the issue!. You Must also Empty the Trash: When you delete an email or a file, it goes to the "Trash" (or "Bin"). It still takes up space until you permanently empty the trash. Items are deleted automatically after 30 days, but if you need the space now, you must empty it manually.
