Time of interview: 45 minutes CHAIRMAN SIR: 1. Have we met before? 2. Why do you want to join civil services? Sir stopped me in between and asked to not say anything which coaching institutes have made me to say, he said he wanted a true reason. Also, gave me water to drink. Then I said the same reason because it was a true one, but added one extra line to give him respect. 3. You are from bundelkhand, so tell me about forests of bundelkhand. 4. What type of forests are found in Himalayas? 5. What is tree line? 6. Tell me some environmental movements which have changed Indian forest policies and laws. 7. What changes were brought after chipko movement? 8. With increasing issues of climate change, do you think it is right time to transfer forest subject from concurrent list to union list. 9. Suppose you are PCCF in UP, how will you promote ecotourism? Also tell me what will be potential areas to promote it? 10. What percentage of India's area and UP's area is forest cover? 11. I have read that in UP, forest cover is something else, are you sure?( He was giving the data of forest and tree cover combined) 12. Have you visited any forest area? 13. UN has declared 2021-2030 as which decade? 14. What does ecosystem restoration means? MEMBER 1(Female): 1. What are endemic species? 2. What makes species endemic? 3. Recite it( I drank water and then recited Harivansh Rai Bachchan Ji's poem, Jo beet gayi so baat gayi) MEMBER 3: 1. What is metallurgical and materials engineering? 2. What is it's use in forestry? 3. What is UP's target of forest cover? 4. What is global warming? 5. How you as a forest officer can fight it? 6. What is community forest management? MEMBER 2: What is difference between community forest management and joint forest management? CHAIRMAN SIR: 1. In how many phases elections are occurring? 2. In UP how many phases? 3. How many phases already happened? 4. Which part of UP have already faced elections? 5. Why low voter's turnout? 6. Should there be one nation one election? 7. Should election schedule have been two months long? 8. What would you have done if you were chief election commissioner? 9. What are advantages of one nation one election? MEMBER 3: Is it practically posible holding one nation one election? MEMBER 2: What you are telling has no relationship with holding one nation one election. CHAIRMAN SIR: "No, actually there is a relation in his point. I understood what he is saying". Then he made the member understand about how my point was related to holding one nation one election in a practical manner. Tell me what gives you happiness? MEMBER 2: Do you want to join politics? CHAIRMAN: 1. Why youth is less attracted towards politcs? 2. Should there be a competitive exam for entering into politics? 3. What reforms should be there then to promote youth entering politics? After this I started researching more about service and started preparing after graduation for it and It also aligns with my practice of minimalism and rural background so I can tackle the remote postings of the service. What is Ecosystem ? Sir It is biotic and abiotic components and their interaction with each other What is Ecological Succession ? I tried to speak but couldn’t frame a coherent answer so Stopped and Asked for a minute’s time and Then told that it is progressive replacement of one species by more fit species in a particular environment. And This leads finally to ? Climax Species What are those ? It is the most suitable species for a particular environment at that particular point of time. Difference between WLS and NP ? Sir Both are protected under WLPA,1972 and All rights are allowed in WLS unless prohibited explicitly and opposite is true in NP. NP are declared by CG/SG while WLS is declared by SG. Difference between Zoo and Safari ? Differs in Objectives - Zoo is created to protect the germplasm and for exotic animals and creating awareness about them in general public while Safari is to reduce the pressure on core area and create awareness about indigenous fauna. Also The enclosure is smaller in zoo and in safari they live in natural habitat. What are Indicator Species ? Species whose presence or absence indicates the good/bad health of ecosystem. For e.g. - Lichens are good health indicators Member 2: (Rajasthan Related Questions) What are the plants found in Rajasthan ? Neem,Mango,Khejri,etc. - I told 6 to 8 plants with scientific names. Scope of Forest Department and Its officers in Rajasthan ? Afforestation and Reforestation to Increase the forest cover according to forest policy of rajasthan - 20% and Arresting Desertification by Sand Dune Stabilisation, Protecting Wildlife and Managing Human-Animal Conflict, Tiger Management,Enrichment Plantations  etc. There is production of lac in rajasthan which is used in bangles and handicrafts so where is the centre for lac located in rajasthan ? Sorry Sir I dont know .. I will read more about it. One Animal Conservation Centre is there in Rajasthan ? Where is It ? Sir Captive Breeding of GiB is done in Desert National Park… He interrupted and asked I am talking about animal ?... I said I dont know Sir .. I will read more about it. Remote Sensing ? ( Couldn’t understand he is asking what is remote sensing or remote sensing centre ?) Technique to measure properties of Remote object without physically touching it. ( didn’t ask next question and gave me pause) so I started telling Remote Sensing usage in Forestry - NTFP Mapping, Illegal Lopping Surveillance, Forest Health Monitoring,Forest Fire Alerts etc. Member 3 : You have caste name in your surname … Many castes are having their own bodies these days - Dalit Chamber of Commerce, Vishwakarma Association so The role of caste in society is increasing or decreasing ? Sir In certain aspects of caste system it is weakening for example - Interdining due to restaurant culture and hereditary occupation due to modern industry but in certain other aspects it is increasing for example - Political Mobilisation and Vote Bank Politics What about reservation ? Shall we abolish it ? Sir It should definitely not be abolished but it should be better channelised and should be provided in a way that it reaches the most needy. Shall we provide reservation based on caste or shall we put sole economic criteria ? Sir as these caste groups were discriminated against as groups historical so there is a logic in providing it based on caste and not solely based on economic criteria but On top of social criteria - economic criteria can be used to filter people who have used the reservation system and make it reach to more needy people. ( I might have forgotten a few questions from last member) Mocks : Statecraft Academy,Shankar IAS Finally Interview is always way different than mocks but interaction with Vinod Jakhar Sir and Aknkita maam(Statecraft Academy) helped a lot.

Underwater Sea Cables for Internet Connectivity were disrupted by Houthi Attacks Exactly How many cables were disrupted and How many total Cables are there ? Sorry Maam. I am not aware about the exact no. I will read more About it. In Red Sea Disruption Many Western countries are conducting operations for Maritime safety.. Tell The Mission Names and Which country launched them ? Sorry Maam I am not able to recall the exact mission names but US and UK both have launched operations in the area. Are these operations by US and UK joined by european countries ? If yes then which countries joined and which didn't ? Maam I am not aware about exact country names and As far As I remember few countries have joined the above operations while few are thinking of launching independent operations. What is India doing ? Maam India launched anti-piracy operations and is protecting its maritime interests as well as implementing International Law. Which Operation was launched by India ? Sorry Maam I dont know exact name of the operation You have Badminton as Hobby so tell me can we play Badminton on Moon ? Maam As Moon have 1/6th gravity of earth the shuttle will go far higher and will take long time to come back so it will difficult to play for these reasons Can we play Badminton in Space ? Maam In Space there is no gravity so if we hit a shuttle it will keep floating in that direction infinitely so until we hit back shuttle it will never come back so it is near to impossible to play badminton in space. Which Shuttle stays in Air for More Time Nylon or Feather ? I told it depends maam as nylon had different versions like green made for cold environments and red for warm environments but generally feather shuttles stay for more time in air and has better drag compared to Nylon. Recently there was a SC judgement on Fundamental Rights .. what is it ? I told maam it was MK Ranjit Singh Case for GiB Protection and laying underground lines for protection in Which SC declared people have FR under Article 21 to be protected against the impacts of Climate Change. You know about Bitcoin ?... actually cryptocurrency in general.. The prices are decreasing these days again why ? Maam The last news I read the prices were going up due to Bitcoin Halving where out of 21 million BTC only 2 million BTC are remaining to be Mined and it becomes exponentially difficult to mine next bitcoin so people are feeling that there will be scarcity of BTC… She asked why they crashed after initial skyrocketing ? I told maam initially they increased due to people feeling that they will replace legal tender but when major economies didnt declare them as legal tender they crashed. What is India’s Stand in this ? Maam Initially RBI Banned but SC lifted the ban on grounds of violations of  Article 19(1)(f)- right to profession and proportionality grounds but then Govt. brought a bill to ban cryptocurrencies but I am not aware about the exact status of passing of that bill.
