Why developing SLP is important?
This opinions are just from my personal observations, so take them as a grain of salt, but I think, if your personality, your identity is changing in that language, how cool it is, right? Because it shows your dedication and the amount of work you put in. In a nutshell, you are developing SLP, it means that you have a good understanding of that culture. It's too crucial to push yourself to your limits, to go out there and this is going to sound great cliche, but actually experience the language firsthand. Then you are going to be able to speed the process at least some degree. Believe me, no school, no institution, no book can ever give you that. And if you are learning a language, you really have to understand why you want to learn it or it should trigger your deepest feelings.
For instance, for me I don't actually have an urgent reason to learn languages though, my pretty good reason is just because I want it. So, having the reason of "I just like it" is strong enough reason for me to learn anything. In fact that I'm intrinsically motivated all the time. But for others who are not really into languages they can easily lose their motivation when process gets hard. It's like, they drop it in the middle of the way. I'll give an example. We had German classes back at the University. To be honest, neither I enjoyed learning German, nor l had any goal for learning it. For me, it was kind of waste of time to tackle it without any purpose. Even though, I'm quite inclined to learn languages, l found it kind of boring. I could have mastered German, but I couldn't find any interest or value for me, as a result, l couldn't make myself learn it. Anyway, I'd forget it. Because as long as you don't use the language, you will lose it.
So, l think, having passion for something or understanding why you actually need it in a deep level, is the key to success. However, if you really want to reach fluency, although you don't have a passion, you have to be committed and you got to be willing what it takes. And it won't be with no sacrifices. It will take quite a lot time, discipline, and your effort.
Actually, fluency starts at that moment when you start to think in that language. And you feel very comfortable at this stage. But in order to reach that level you need to do massive input which I call it "brain soaking". You need to be exposed to that language so much and to be more strategical. Doing the massive input is too crucial in order to be able to reach to the level where you can think in your target language.Do massive input and gradually increase output and then balance them together, so that you can understand and speak as well.
So, as a conclusion, fluency is basically your ability to articulate your thoughts smoothly. That means you speak naturally without thinking too much. You can understand what is being said and you can make yourself understood.
Also keep in mind that your psycho physiological state matters a lot. If you are sad, angry, worried or upset, you are not going to learn. But if you are happy in an alpha brain state you are going to learn anything really quickly.

WHAT IS FLUENCY?
As a language learner I want to share some experiences from my observations in learning languages. It's astounding and quite surprising to see how differently people understand the concept of fluency. For a lot of people fluency is strictly connected with the amount of words, like, the more words you know, the more fluent you are.
But is it really so? The reality is, the quantity of words doesn't really matter. In any language people actually use just a small portion of existing vocabulary. If you even know a tiny fraction of a language and as long as you can put them to use well, this is what matters. But before jumping into the topic, let me explain my definition of fluency. Because fluency can really differ according to your goals. For example, if you are learning a language to pass a certain exam, then your goal should be more focused on learning grammar, like, some exams require essays, listening, reading or interview practices and those type of things. If you are learning a language for business purposes, it's more important to focus on business terms, rather than focusing on daily conversations, or if your focus is to socialize with people around the world, it's better to focus on daily communicational vocabulary and terms.
Personally, for me, the main reason to learn languages is being able to communicate with people and for me, grammar mistakes or using really difficult vocabulary are not that important. So due to my goal of being able to have a smooth daily conversation I measure my fluency according to the level of my Secondary Linguistic Personality.
What do I mean by secondary linguistic personality? Have you ever experienced this? When you switch languages your personality slightly or maybe not even slightly, but major changes can occur. I'll give an example, in my case, I'm much funnier in Turkish, more logical and a bit shy in Arabic and also according to some friends of mine, elegant in Russian, but more confident and straight in English. So, if your personality changes when you switch your non native language that is the real fluency.
But in order to develop secondary linguistic characteristics you need to experience the culture, interact with natives, see how they use their gestures, you need to understand their values. I think you know what I'm talking about. Because languages have really close relationship with the culture. So, when we learn a new language, we learn actually a new way of thinking, almost like the way you look to the world changes.

"Fluency" deganda nima nazarda tutiladi?
Ko'pchilik ingliz tilida "fluently" gapirish haqida gap ketganda "perfect" gapirish kerak ekan deb o'ylashadi. Aslidachi?
Ingliz tilida "fluently" gapirish deyilganda – ingliz tilida erkin va ravon, tabiiy, o'ziga ishonch bilan, miyada ortiqcha tarjimalarsiz gapirish nazarda tutiladi. Ingliz tilida erkin va ravon gapirish uchun ingliz tilini mukammal o'rgangan bo'lishingiz, advanced gramatik strukturalar va so'zlardan foydalanishingiz shart emas.
Intermediate darajasidagi til o'rganuvchi ham ingliz tilida bemalol mulaqot qila oladi va "fluency" darajasiga chiqa oladi, albatta ingliz tilini "to'g'ri" o'rgansa.
Bir muhim jihatni eslatib o'tishim kerak, men Speakingda "fluency" ni nazarda tutdim. Boshqa skillarda "fluency" darajaga chiqish alohida katta tema, hozircha unga to'xtalib o'tirmayman.
2 oylik "Intensiv Speaking Course" davomida ingliz tilida mukammal emas, balki erkin va ravon, tabiiy gapirishni o'rgataman.
