Another meaningless update.
Added a Books page to the website. Mostly nihilism, pessimism, existential fiction, and other things that won't make you feel better.
Take a look if that's your kind of entertainment.
Tolstoy believed that once a person fully confronts the reality of existence: its suffering, aging, death, and apparent meaninglessness. only four responses remain.
Ignorance — Never seeing the problem at all. Like a man distracted by drops of honey while a dragon waits below and mice gnaw the branch holding him up. Pleasure — Seeing the truth, but choosing to enjoy life's comforts anyway. Eat, drink, love, distract yourself, and ignore the inevitable for as long as possible. Suicide — Accepting that life is absurd and ending it deliberately. For Tolstoy, this was the most logical and consistent response, chosen by those with the courage to act on their conclusions. Weakness — Recognizing the futility of life, believing death would be preferable, yet continuing to live. Not because of hope, but because one lacks the strength to carry out the logical conclusion.Tolstoy examined all four paths and found himself trapped in the fourth: unable to return to ignorance, unable to lose himself in pleasure, unwilling to keep living, yet unable to die. His crisis was not whether life was difficult, but whether there was any rational reason to continue at all. @CasualNihilism
I wonder if any of you using the website or not at all? I've been paying for its upkeep for years but hardly any feedback, I think it's time to let it die.
