14 Yesterday, after spending 30 minutes with Pratik sir, my conclusion is
- UPSC Prelims mein History is like JDU/TDP, without its support BJP (you) may find difficulty in forming govt (clearing cutoff).
- Bcoz around 4-5 MCQs out of 13-14 History MCQs in Prelim-2023 were solvable (by serious candidates).
- These 5 questions were: (1) Pumpuhar is port city (2) stupa (3) jainism (4) charter act (5) Vijayanagar king ki canal.
- 5 MCQ = 10 marks. (difficult to extract 10 extra marks from other subject subjects like science)
- so at least that much History you should prepare.

15 🙋🏻 FAQ: Doubt regarding photo pe signature / hall ticket
sir, i have uploaded photo without mentioning date and name on it and i get to know about this error just few days before but my admit card is properly downloaded ..
is upsc accepted my form or it may reject my form in mains form filling ??
Ans:
- presently, u got hallticket then focus on preparing for your prelims exam.
- baaki sab technical things ko bhul jaao.
- Kyooki aapke doubt ka jawaab sirf UPSC ke clerks de sakte hai. and Noone else can predict how positively or negatively the UPSC clerks are going to behave regarding this photo pe signature matter.
- Dil ki tasaalli ke liye u may send them an email. (But I don't think they easily reply to anyone via phone/email.)

22 👩🏻⚖️ [Polity] 25+ Latin Judicial terms for UPSC MCQs - a compilation by Mrunal
1. ‘Audi alteram partem’ = To hear the other party. or no one should be condemned unheard. (This was asked in UPSC Geoscientist exam recently.)
2. Nemo judex in causa sua’= No one should be made a judge in his own cause.
3. CORAM NON JUDICE = matter given to a judge not competent or he has no jurisdiction. (e.g. Judge sitting in his own case)
4. Ex Parte = “Hearing from one side only, without presence of other party.” e.g. Delhi coaching mafia-boss files defamation case against small-time YouTubers who can’t afford to goto Delhi, then hearing done Ex Parte.
5. SLAPPs (strategic lawsuits against public participation) = basically jo OMG-3 movie mein school-mafia filing multiple cases against Pankaj Tiwari in multiple courts across India, so he cannot afford to continue the legal battle.
6. Sine qua non = pre-requisite / essential requirement. e.g. PYQ (previous years question) analysis is a sine qua non for success in any competitive exam.
7. Mens rea = mental state of the accused at the time of the crime.
8. Caveat emptor = "let the buyer beware”.e.g. if Babushona buys an online course based on the shero-shaayari motivational reels, then it is his fault, if he fails in UPSC.
9. Locus Standi = right of a party to bring a legal action. e.g. Abdullah had no locus standi to attend the Begaane ki shaadi.
10. Amicus curiae = "friend of the court”. Special expert appointed by the court to help in a particular case.
11. Bona fide = “in good faith”. e.g. Bystander took a road accident victim to the hospital yet despite his bona fide action, the cops accused him of stealing the gold chain of the victim to extract bribe from the bystander.
12. Pro Bono = Lawyer fighting a case without taking money from client.
13. Prima Facie = "At first sight." Prima Facie it is evident ke Topper royal entry videos get more pageviews than academic videos.
14. Obiter Dictum = "Something said in passing." A remark made by a judge in a legal opinion that is not essential to the decision and does not establish precedent.
15. Res Judicata = A case or issue that has been definitively settled by judicial decision and is no longer subject to appeal. e.g. “Abrogation (removal) of Article 370 is valid” -said SC YET some people are still filing appeals against SC-decision.
16. Ultra Vires = “beyond powers. if an action requires is carried out with that authorization.” If RBI governor announced the REPO RATE without consulting with the monetary policy committee, then, it will be ultra-vires.
17. Ad Hoc = temporary. Not permanent. The decision to keep five petroleum products out of GST is ad hoc.
18. Inchoate = This word means "not yet fully developed” / yet to mature / implementation date is yet to come. GST came from 1st July 2017. So in June,2017 the GST was in Inchoate state.
19. Ipso Facto = "By the fact itself." Something that is true by its very nature. Royal entry toppers are
ipso facto narcissist people. (narcissist = person with inflated sense of self-importance.)
20. Ab initio = From the beginning. Babushonaa are born in this world, to make coaching-owner crorepati ab-initio.
21. A posteriori = From later/afterwards. e.g. only after the failing in Prelims for paper-2, Babushonaa understood the importance of CSAT.
22. Quid Pro Quo = "Something for something." e.g. giving bribe to get a government job.
23. Inter Alia = "Among other things. This list may have even more things which are not mentioned”. Reason for babushona failure in exam is social media addiction, fanboyism of bogus UPSC celebrities, breakup depression, neglect of PYQs...... And many things.
24. Ad hominem = Attacking person’s character rather than answering his arguments. e.g. Some Dhruv Rathi fans are Ad hominem trolling Elvish Yadav for his character/education, instead of replying to Elvish’s argument about the political bias of Rathi.

सरकार एक ही योजना दो-दो बार लॉन्च करके मीडिया पब्लिसिटी लेती रहती है, रिजर्व बैंक का भी कुछ ऐसा ही हो रहा है. लेकिन अगर आप ऐसा डेली-करंट अफेयर्स नाच-गाना ही देखते रहेंगे तो सुग्रथित रूप से कभी भी टॉपिक याद नहीं रख पाएंगे. इसलिए एक बार ढंग से पढ़ लो.

- Shrinkflation= when company reduces quantity or volume of product without changing the price. e.g. If a ₹10 Detergent Bar previously gave 155gm, now giving only 135gm. (“श्रिंक-फ़्लेशन”: जब कंपनी पैकेट के अंदर बिस्कुट की संख्या कम कर दे लेकिन भाव/कीमत में बदलाव न करें)
