Someone who has seen it all👀   a judy👩‍⚖️ a coach🏋️‍♀️ a mooter👩‍💻   ✨Yuliia Holik has numerously participated in different moot courts (Jessup, Telders, NLU Moot Court) in various roles (team member, coach, judge, volunteer). She is currently a PhD student at our University. Here’s what she has to tell you🧐   Hi there! Yep, that could be just another story about moot courts (Telders, in particular). Yet, let’s proceed to the crucial point. Ukrainians are expecting the proceedings that are going to require first-class specialists to fk the terrorizt state on the legal field. We will be applicants. They - respondents. Just like in Telders. Thus, Telders promises to be a great training, isn’t it? So, you can try your hand in the moot court (simulating the real procedure) and feel what it’s like to be the representative of a state before the International Court of Justice (by the way, how many cases does Ukraine have there now, hmm?). Furthermore, you can become wonderful co-agents. And you are going to have truly dedicated coaches (believe me, I know them both❤️) Nevertheless, participation in a moot court needs a kind of inner click. And a few rational arguments concerning the acquisition of skills that will benefit your whole life. Seriously. They will benefit your whole life whatever you choose to do. So, if you feel that click, don’t waste another minute (; This concludes my pleadings for today, Your Excellencies. ✨Morning everybody!✨ We hope you remember that the application for the Telders Moot Court Competition is around the corner! 🥳 Still have doubts about whether to apply? Do not listen to us, listen to our Telders alumni!👩‍🎓🧑‍🎓   Here is why you should participate, in the words of Olena Stohnii, 2019 and 2020 Telders Moot Court team member, awardee of the second best European Memorial Award 2020, and currently International Tax Consultant at EY Germany👩‍💻:   Telders MCC was my first moot court, thus it has a special place in my heart, the first Team, the first pleading, the first failures and victories. I consider Telders to be the best option for those who do not have a lot of mooting experience but really want to deepen their knowledge of public international law and master their mooting skills, legal research and writing skills (which are obviously must-haves for a lawyer!).   Even if it is a pretty challenging moot court, and preparation for it involves a lot of dedication and a lot of hours of research – trust me, it never gets boring! We are sure you heard that Ukraine, Canada, Sweden and the UK have instituted proceedings before the ICJ against Iran for the downing of the UIA plane in 2020.👩‍⚖️   But do you know that in 2024 one more case will be addressed by the International Court of Justice, and YOUR help is essential in holding those who violate international law accountable⁉️ Yes, we are talking about moot court again Yes, it’s fictional Yes, it takes less than a year (unlike a real ICJ case) And yes, you can participate!   The selection for Telders International Law Moot Court Competition (https://www.universiteitleiden.nl/teldersmcc) has started! Telders Competition is one of the most prestigious moot court competitions in public international law.
