​​What is Darknet? The Darknet refers to networks that are not indexed by search engines such as Google, Yahoo or Bing. These are networks that are only available to a select group of people and not to the general internet public, and only accessible via authorization, specific software and configurations. This includes harmless places such as academic databases and corporate sites, as well as those with shadier subjects such as black markets, fetish communities, and hacking and piracy. The Darknet is an overlay network to the internet that can only be accessed by specialized software, configurations and special authorizations, and often makes use of non-standard communication protocols in order for it to be deliberately inaccessible by the internet. The term was originally coined in the 1970s to refer to computer networks that were isolated from the ARPANET for obvious security reasons. These darknets were able to receive communication from the ARPANET but were inaccessible and invisible in network lists and would disregard pings and other regular inquiries. The term gained popular acceptance after the publication of the paper “The Darknet and the Future of Content Distribution” in 2002. In this paper, four Microsoft employees (Biddle, England, Peinado and Willman) argued that the darknet’s presence is the primary hindrance to the development of workable DRM technologies because of the prospect of inevitable copyright infringement.

​​Why Baking Soda is used in cooking? Baking soda, an alkaline compound, produces carbon dioxide bubbles when combined with an acid. The bubbles get trapped, causing dough or batter to expand, or rise. This creates an airy texture in pancakes, cakes, bread, and other foods. Baking soda also releases gas as it decomposes. When exposed to temperatures above 176 degrees Fahrenheit (80 degrees Celsius) in the oven, baking soda release bubbles and can cause food to rise. For baked goods, usually to react with an acid to create carbon dioxide to leaven quickbreads, cakes, etc. It typically takes the form of double acting baking powder(unless buttermilk is used). Soaking or sprinkling it on shrimp can help it retain a plump, snappy texture when it’s cooked. It can be used in velveting meat, to keep it tender when stirfrying, though some consider it a cheat that makes meat mushy. Baking soda has many non-culinary uses around the house, from putting out small fires to easing irritation from bug bites, polishing silver, deodorizing, and more. Baking soda is inexpensive and widely available.

​​What is Gun Cotton? How is it different from Black Gun Powder? Nitrocellulose (also known as cellulose nitrate, flash paper, flash cotton, guncotton, pyroxylin and flash string, depending on form) is a highly flammable compound formed by nitrating cellulose through exposure to a mixture of nitric acid and sulfuric acid. One of its first major uses was as guncotton, a replacement for gunpowder as propellant in firearms. Guncotton was actually developed as a “Smokeless Gun Powder”, Essentially, the main difference between Black Gun Powder and Smokeless Gun Powder is that you need almost zero incombustible components. The key problem with black powder was that it produced a cloud of smoke, not only from uncombusted carbon but also, unavoidably, from ash, the salts formed from whatever anion happened to latch on to the sodium or potassium cations present from the nitrates in black powders. Black powder ash contains a high proportion of potassium or sodium sulfates and carbonates, and because the inorganic saltpeter component was about 2/3 of the total weight of black powder, you had a lot of ash. Modern smokeless powder has to also have a couple of properties that make it useful over long periods of time: It must be relatively inert: you don't want a substance like pure nitroglycerine that is shock sensitive. That property is for the primer (more on that below) and is a very bad idea for the propellant itself. It must remain relatively inert: early smokeless gunpowders had volatile components like camphor that would evaporate after a few years, leaving a considerably less stable substance. Others had volatile components that would decompose over time and result in spontaneous explosions. It must at some point during the production process be Plastic: you need to be able to form the propellant into a useful shape to put it into a cartridge. It means that it needs to be able to fit a mold. Actual powders will do. It must be explosive, but not too explosive: too high of a gas velocity and you get a high explosive, where the flame front exceeds the speed of sound and the stress on your gun barrel is very high. No one wants their gun to blow up in their faces.

Atmospheric rivers are key features of the global water cycle, they are long flowing regions of the atmosphere about 250 - 375 miles wide and can be more than a 1000 miles long. They pick up water vapour from the warm, moist air of the tropics and they drop the water as rain or snow in cooler regions of the land.
