This has to be one of the most incompetent, unprofessional and utterly ridiculous “letters” I have ever seen you people produce, for the use of PARENTS. BOM Parent Letter https://irisheducationalliance.com/bom-parent-letter/ it is so bad, so incoherent and incompetent, it is difficult to know where to start. But, lets focus on one thing “Child Safe Guarding” in schools I picked a random selection of schools in Ireland, three Primary and three Post Primary schools to indicate that ALL schools have a “Child Safe Guarding Statement” in place and TECHNICALLY they are ALL in compliance with this Statutory obligation, and its EASY for them, because both the Statement and the “policy” and the “declarations” are BOX TICKING exercises – the “Statement” itself is TEMPLATE, and the school just fills in the blanks and signs it. Go look for yourselves. So, this absolute utter nonsense, and almost fervent emphasise on the procedures laid out in the Childrens First Act, 2015 and the subsequent “National Guidelines” is not only the stupidest thing I have ever seen, it illustrates the absolute incompetence of the person or persons “advising” this group and its affiliated “groups” I might also add that EVERY road in the implementation and enforcement of the provisions of this Act, lead back to TUSLA – and I wouldn’t trust this agency with the care and welfare of ANY child, under ANY circumstances. Further the National Guidelines that you people are espousing were overseen by this person, which means ANY person appointed BY this person to oversee the implementation of these “Guidelines” was appointed by HER. Extract from the Foreword While we must strive to protect children and young people from harm, it is equally important that we do not restrict them from taking all of the opportunities that life has to offer. It is in all our interests to see our children reaching their full potential, and I want to encourage and support people who work with children to continue to do so. The responsibility to protect children and young people can be daunting, but I hope that families, communities and those who work with children will find this revised Guidance a practical and supportive reference resource. Dr. Katherine Zappone, TD - Minister for Children and Youth Affairs Or do you NOT know who and what Katherine Zappone is? I strongly suggest you do your bloody homework. “With the establishment of a single body, Tusla - Child and Family Agency, in January 2014, the procedures for Tusla staff dealing with children became a matter for Tusla. The Child Protection and Welfare Practice Handbook is a practice resource aimed at social work practitioners in Tusla to support best practice in frontline child protection and welfare work. The Practice Handbook sets out the key issues in the areas of recognising abuse, responding to referrals, risk factors, assessment, planning and intervention. While this Guidance provides an overview of the role of Tusla, social work practitioners and Tusla staff should consult the Practice Handbook for detailed practice advice and guidance on the various elements of child protection and welfare work” Children First National Guidelines 2017 https://www.tusla.ie/uploads/content/Children_First_National_Guidance_2017.pdf “This edition of Children First: National Guidance for the Protection and Welfare of Children replaces previous editions and should be the only one in use. It is intended for use by the general public, mandated persons and other professionals whose work brings them into contact with children and also by staff and volunteers of organisations providing services to children. Social workers and staff of Tusla – Child and Family Agency, should note that the Child Protection and Welfare Practice Handbookis the reference point for all practice detail”

In your execrable “letter” you make this ridiculous statement “Under Schedule 1 Section 2(1) (b) of the Children First Act 2015 a school within the meaning of the Education Act 1998 is defined as a relevant service and is therefore under a statutory obligation to safeguard pupils from exposure to harm. Under Section 10 and 11, a relevant service is under a statutory duty to undertake Child Safeguarding Statements and Risk Assessment if there is a risk of exposure to potential harm. In accordance with Section 11(3) a Child Safeguarding Statement shall include a written assessment of the risks and, in that regard, specify the procedures that are in place.” They DO, they HAVE – they HAVE “ticked all the boxes” ALL of them – or did you NOT check and verify? They ALL filled out the TEMPLATE and signed on the dotted line – please do feel free to go check for yourselves. In any event – ALL roads with regard to THIS “legislation” that you people have been waving about and citing lead to TUSLA – ALL roads. Shall we take a quick look at TUSLA’s record, at their history in “Child Protection”? Just a quick look. Social worker failed to notify Tusla of child protection issues; Seán McCárthaigh, Mon 25 Jul 2022 at 02:30 https://www.independent.ie/irish-news/social-worker-failed-to-notify-tusla-of-child-protection-issues/41864174.html Tusla not fit for purpose, says solicitor, amid claims Galway foster home rapes 'not an isolated incident'; THU, 23 MAY, 2019 - 17:50, CONALL Ó FÁTHARTA AND EOIN ENGLISH https://www.irishexaminer.com/news/arid-30926317.html “A solicitor for two of the three girls raped while living at a foster home in Galway between 2003 and 2007 says it is "not an isolated incident". Ronan Hynes made the comments in the wake of a damning report which identified “systemic flaws in management” in how the cases of the abuse of three girls while in foster care were handled by the HSE and Tusla. The report lists a catalogue of failures, which saw three children suffer “grave and heinous sexual abuse” while in the care of the State. Mr Hynes told RTÉ's News at One that the contents of the report "call into serious question the ability of the State agencies to properly exercise their statutory functions which are, of course, to improve outcomes for children". Tusla guilty of litany of failings in child abuse cases – Ombudsman; Eilish O'Regan, Tue 18 Jul 2017 at 12:01 https://www.independent.ie/irish-news/tusla-guilty-of-litany-of-failings-in-child-abuse-cases-ombudsman/35942488.html I have absolutely no doubt that there are many PARENTS who can tell their own stories about their experiences with TUSLA – and there are many PARENTS who have fallen afoul of TUSLA’s “practices” and THESE are the people that YOU are directing PARENTS to rely on to “protect” THEIR children??? What the hell is wrong with you people?
