The Young Professional Internships Program (YPIP) hosted this year's opening ceremony for 75 interns on May 31st at the Hyatt Regency Tashkent. Deputy Chief of Mission Paul Poletes from the US Embassy Tashkent and American Councils Country Director William O'Roark delivered opening remarks and warmly welcomed the participants. This transformative 12-week summer program, funded by the US Embassy Tashkent and implemented by American Councils, is designed to provide Uzbek students with opportunities in professional business and STEM fields. During the upcoming summer period, 75 finalists will gain practical work experience and a greater understanding of international business practices as they prepare to enter the competitive 21st-century workforce. YPIP participants represent and come from various different educational and professional backgrounds including business, STEM, tourism, English language, media, law. In addition to placing interns at numerous businesses and enterprises across Tashkent, YPIP also provides the interns with dedicated business mentors, ensuring a meaningful and positive internship experience. Through professional development events, interactions with industry leaders, and collaboration within their cohort, our interns will build a robust network of peers and professionals. The US Embassy and American Councils are incredibly proud of the new cohort of interns and excited to witness their professional journey this summer. Today, May 31, 2024, marks the opening ceremony of the Young Professional Internships Program (YPIP). This program offers a 3-month summer internship experience, complete with professional development sessions, networking opportunities, and mentorship. YPIP is designed to equip Uzbek students with essential skills in business and STEM, providing them with real-world experience to thrive in their future careers. Remarkably, YPIP extends its opportunities beyond Tashkent, reaching students across various regions of Uzbekistan. Impressively, 70% of participants are from different regions of Uzbekistan, reflecting the program's commitment to inclusivity and regional development. In 2024, out of 1,170 applicants, only 75 outstanding finalists were selected. Today, May 31, 2024, marks the opening ceremony of the Young Professional Internships Program (YPIP). This program offers a 3-month summer internship experience, complete with professional development sessions, networking opportunities, and mentorship. YPIP is designed to equip Uzbek students with essential skills in business and STEM, providing them with real-world experience to thrive in their future careers. Remarkably, YPIP extends its opportunities beyond Tashkent, reaching students across various regions of Uzbekistan. Impressively, 70% of participants are from different regions of Uzbekistan, reflecting the program's commitment to inclusivity and regional development. In 2024, out of 1,170 applicants, only 75 outstanding finalists were selected. These individuals are smart, active, and goal-oriented, poised to become the next generation of leaders in their respective fields.
