Explanation The correct answer is D. The Code on Social Security, 2020. The Code on Social Security, 2020 amalgamates and replaces 9 central labor laws related to social security and employee benefits. First-Ever Definition & Framework: It explicitly defines terms like "gig worker", "platform worker", and "unorganized worker", and establishes a legal framework to extend social security benefits (including life and disability cover, health and maternity benefits, and old age protection) to them. Social Security Fund & Contribution: It empowers the Central Government to frame schemes for these workers and mandates that aggregators (e.g., digital platforms) contribute 1% to 2% of their annual turnover (capped at 5% of the amount paid or payable to gig and platform workers) toward a dedicated Social Security Fund.
Repost from N/a
Q32

A.The Code on Wages, 2019
B.The Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020
C.The Industrial Relations Code, 2020
D.The Code on Social Security, 2020

Explanation The correct answer is (d) 1 and 2 both. Statement 1 is correct: The Legal Metrology (Indian Standard Time) Rules, 2026 establish Indian Standard Time (IST) as the single legal, administrative, and official time standard across the country under the overarching principle of "One Nation, One Time". All legal, official, and commercial documents, digital networks, and critical sectors (such as banking, telecommunications, transport, and energy) must synchronize their time references to IST. Statement 2 is correct: The Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution (through the Department of Consumer Affairs and its Legal Metrology Division) is the Nodal Ministry responsible for formulating, notifying, and overseeing the implementation of these rules under the parent Legal Metrology Act, 2009. Key Highlights of the Rules: Traceability to National Standard: The time must be legally traceable to UTC(NPLI), the national primary time scale maintained by the CSIR-National Physical Laboratory (NPL). Dissemination Sources: Time synchronization can be achieved through CSIR-NPL direct feeds, Regional Reference Standards Laboratories (RRSLs), ISRO's NavIC (Navigation with Indian Constellation), or the National Informatics Centre (NIC). Transition Period: Entities are provided a 180-day transition period from the date of publication in the Official Gazette to upgrade systems and ensure compliance.
