Analyze saturation curves: Saturation curves plot the saturation of a specific fluid against the capillary pressure. Pc is the pressure difference across the interface between two immiscible fluids. Water-wet: If the saturation curve for water shows that water saturation increases as Pc increases, it indicates a water-wet rock. In other words, as Pc increases, more water fills the pores of the rock. Oil-wet: If the saturation curve for oil shows that oil saturation increases as Pc increases. In this case, as Pc increases, more oil fills the pores of the rock. Mixed-wet rock: Sometimes, a rock can exhibit characteristics of both water-wet and oil-wet behavior. Saturation curves will show a combination of increasing water saturation & increasing oil saturation with increasing capillary pressure. Expertise in petrophysics and reservoir is very useful.
