al-Awza’ee (رحمه الله) said:
I realized that people were reserving things (their duas, needs, wishes) for the day of ‘Arafah to ask Allah for them.
And some of them used to say:
“For fifty years I have been supplicating (making du’a) on the day of ‘Arafah and the year does not go by except that I see (the answer of my du’a come to pass) as the morning light (as clear as day).”
[al-Lataif al-Ma’arif, pg. 494, Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali (رحمه الله)]
‘Ata (رحمه الله) said:
“If you are able to seclude yourself [for worship] on the afternoon of ‘Arafah, then do so!”

Shaytaan causes one to be absentminded and forgetful
Shaytaan invades the human soul in a moment of neglect and weakness.
The Most High says;
"And if shaytaan causes you to forget, then sit not in the company of those people who are the wrong doers." [Soorah al-An'aam (6): 68]
His pace is swift and harmful as he affects man with speed. He searches for ways to take complete control over the soul, therefore man should take precaution against him.
Ibn Taymiyyah (رحمه الله) said:
“If the servant recognizes that everything which afflicts them from things which are disliked and detested is a result of one's sins,
Then they busy themselves with al-tawbah wal-Istighfar (ie: repentance and asking for forgiveness) from their sins.”
[Qaʿidah fi ʾl-Sabr 1/94]

Abu Dhar (رضي الله عنه) pointing towards his neck said, “If you put the sword on this (my neck to kill me) and then I think that, before this sword could work, I can say even one sentence which I heard from the Prophet (ﷺ), I would surely say it. (Indicating that one should convey the knowledge that one has acquired to the others).”

Loving to Meet Allah ﷻ
Abu Musa al-Ash’ari narrated that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:
مَن أَحَبَّ لِقاءَ اللهِ، أَحَبَّ اللَّهُ لِقاءَهُ، وَمَن كَرِهَ لِقاءَ اللهِ، كَرِهَ اللَّهُ لِقاءَهُ
“Whoever loves to meet with Allah, Allah loves to meet with him; and whoever hates to meet with Allah, Allah hates to meet with him.”
[Agreed upon. Sahih al-Bukhari: 6508; Sahih Muslim: 2685]
