Funded MSc/PhD positions are available in my research group at the University of Calgary, Canada. I am specifically looking for candidates interested in working on generative modeling approaches for explainable AI, longitudinal modeling, and shape analysis in several areas of medical image computing (e.g., neuroimaging, ophthalmology, …). In general, the positions come with a lot of flexibility and freedom to carry out research depending on the specific interests and prior knowledge of the successful candidates. However, priority will be given to applicants with research interests in generative modeling with longitudinal neuroimaging data to analyze brain development and aging. Successful candidates will be part of a thesis-based Biomedical Engineering graduate program (MSc or PhD) at the University of Calgary and need to fulfill the program’s general admission requirements (see [1]) and must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher in a BSc/MSc degree related to Computer Science/Biomedical Engineering/.... Moreover, all candidates are expected to have prior (research) experience in machine learning-based medical image analysis or computer vision and need to possess excellent, provable Python programming skills.
