You’re Not Doing This for a Job.
This isn’t about power. Or a tag. Or a chair.
This is about that kid in a remote village who’ll get food on her plate because you cleared this exam.
It’s about the flood victim who’ll live because you acted fast.
It’s about justice, dignity, change.
You're not chasing a job.
You're chasing purpose.

West Bengal has recently secured Geographical Indication (GI) tags for seven of its traditional products, notably including the renowned 'Nolen Gurer Sandesh'. This recognition is expected to enhance the local economy and provide international acknowledgment to the state's cultural offerings.
Nolen Gurer Sandesh is a cherished winter delicacy in Bengal, crafted from fresh chhena (curdled milk) and 'nolen gur' (date palm jaggery). The jaggery imparts a rich, caramel-like flavor and a distinctive golden hue to the sweet.
Other Products Receiving GI Tags:
In addition to Nolen Gurer Sandesh, six other products from West Bengal have been granted GI tags:
- Baruipur Guava: Known for its larger, rounder shape and crisp, juicy pulp.
- Kamarpukur's White Bonde: A traditional sweet with cultural significance, characterized by its less sweet taste and dry exterior compared to the yellow variant.
- Murshidabad's Chhanabora: Made from chhena, this sweet features a firm outer layer and a soft, juicy interior, achieved by deep-frying and soaking in sugar syrup.
- Bishnupur's Motichur Laddoo: Prepared using flour from crushed Piyal tree seeds, offering a subtle nutty flavor, mixed with sugar and ghee for a soft, aromatic treat.
- Radhunipagal Rice: A traditional rice variety valued for its unique characteristics.
- Malda's Nistari Silk Yarn: A textile product known for its quality and regional significance.
A Geographical Indication (GI) tag is a form of intellectual property protection that recognizes products as originating from a specific location, attributing their qualities or reputation to that origin. This status not only safeguards the product's uniqueness but also boosts local economies by promoting traditional industries and attracting global recognition.
With these recent additions, West Bengal now boasts a total of 32 GI-tagged products, reflecting the state's rich cultural and agricultural heritage.

The Mirror Strategy
Your biggest competition is not with others. It’s with your own reflection.
Every day, aim to defeat who you were yesterday.
If you studied for 5 hours yesterday, make it 5.5 today.
If you doubted yourself yesterday, believe a little more today.
The UPSC journey isn’t about beating lakhs.
It’s about outgrowing one—your past self.
Outgrow. Outwork. Outshine.
