From Dr. Aditi Upadhyay (AIR 127, CSE-2023) Hi All! My name is Dr.Aditi Upadhyay  and with the blessings of the Almighty I have secured AIR 127 in UPSC CSE 2023. My UPSC Journey I have given 5 attempts at UPSC CSE with Geography optional. I couldn't clear prelims in my first 3 attempts, got the Interview call in my 2021 attempt and this year I finally found my name in the holy PDF. Although I summarised the Journey in a paragraph but until the result was out a month ago, it seemed like decades have passed in relentless pursuit for getting the opportunity to serve the country as a part of its bureaucracy. My Prelims Strategy: I had a fear of faliure when it came to Prelims examination so, more than the academic struggle it was also about calming my nerves and getting ready to perform my best in those 2+ 2 hours. Few things that worked for me : 1. Minimum 3 revision of static sources : Laxmikant, Spectrum, Mrunal Sir's notes (made a  shorter version as guided by Kaptaan), Art and Culture NCERT, New NCERTS for History, Geography NCERTS LUCENT for Ancient and Medieval History and Shankar IAS (short notes that I made out of the book) 2. FLASH NOTES: of the PYQ Themes, Current affairs pointers for Places in news, ramsar sites, mapping, species in news , etc. I tried to identify the Themes from pyq and did additional research. (I will try sharing them) 3. Preparation for the surprise element by UPSC - I solved TTS 22 and TTS-23. 1.5 months before the Prelims, I made it a habit to sit for a Full Length Test everyday for 1: 30 hrs. I kept aside 30 min for OMR filling, attendance sheet filling etc which we have to do in the exam hall. I kept the ppr aside and before going to bed, I kept 2hrs for reading the solution and going through the TTS explanation video. 4. CA sources - concised version PT 365 (as per sessions by Kaptaan in SPRINT-2023) and PEH of IASEC And a constant thought ki "Niklega to static se hi" It was probably the results of those 22 shocks in TTS and Anchor that UPSC 2023 's shock seemed  bearable. CSAT I solved Reading Comprehension from PYQs. Made Flash notes of Quants formulae. I priortised the areas in which I planned to attempt the paper eg, Number system, PnC, Percentage, Profit and Loss and Mensuration. Practiced PYQs and made a note of tricks from Youtube Videos (no channel in particular). I had scored 100+ in my first 4 attempts but scoring 75 this year seemed extremly tough in the real time. MAINS STRATEGY Will discuss in Live Podcast still.. Essay- I tried to collect anecdotes from Epics, movies , etc. I collected Poems, shayari, quotes etc. I tried to write down the probable.topics where each of these could be utilised. I tried to keep it as unique as possible. Eg in 2021 I wrote an anecdote of PO the Kung Fu Panda in the essay - 'The process of self-discovery has now been technologically outsourced.' and secured 126 that year. GS1. 1. I used the flash notes that I had made for Modern history and Art and Culture during Prelims itself. I followed Smriti Maam's notes and CRUX Series handouts for Society and my Optional notes for Geography. GS2. Static notes from Laxmikant , CRUX handouts and Dipin Sir's handouts for IR GS3. CRUX handouts and Dipin Sir's notes. I tried to collect 2 -3 data points for every topic in the syllabus and made Flash notes. In Disaster management, I collected all NDMA guidelines and examples from newspapers eg, heatwaves , cloud bursts etc. GS4. CRUX handouts, Definitions on each syllabus pointers from internet, Ethics+ classes by Ayush Sinha Sir. I also followed topper's notes and copies of Mehak Jain maam, Vishakha Agarwal maam and Divya Mishra maam. The whole idea for mains was to consolidate all my notes in to max 10 pages per subject and try to use the same case studies and examples accross papers. Mocks for Mains. A rigorous answer writing test MMP by Sachin Arora Sir  were I wrote about 45 mini tests subject wise every Morning.

If you are a night owl or an early bird, studying in your natural time zone can be very beneficial. However, in the last few weeks before the prelims, it is also useful to adjust your schedule according to the exam timing. Since the prelims start on June 16 at 9:30 am, you will need to begin your day at least two hours before that. So, don't leave it until the last day, thinking that you will drink Red Bull in the morning and everything will be fine. You might feel sleepy during the exam. Whether you are a night owl or an early bird, set your sleep schedule straight. Best of luck!
