Dear Sir / Madam, It is our pleasure to inform you that the Indian Association of Structural Engineers (IAStructE) is organizing an Online Refresher Course on “Pile Foundation – Application in Buildings & Bridges”, starting from 17th September 2022, which will be concluded on 22nd October 2022. The lectures will be organized on Saturday between 15:00 Hrs to 18:00 Hrs (IST). Prof. Mainak Ghosal, Independent Consultant & GC member IAStructE is the Course Coordinator. The main objective of this Refresher Course is to build capacity by throwing light on the current scenario, giving background information about the works done so far, stimulating focus on the piling problems, extending knowledge concerning piles, and giving ideas and reassurances to those faced with the task of building a safer future for the public. Invited speakers are drawn from different sections of the industry, namely, academicians, practicing designers and consultants, foundation contractors, piling equipment manufacturers, geotechnical experts and foundation quality control experts. Course participation fee shall be Rs. 5,000/- for IAStructE members ; Rs. 7,500/- for non-members (10% discount will be given to Young Engineers upto 35 years of age for the category IAStructE members/Non Members) and Rs 1,000/- for IAStructE Student members and Rs 2000/- for other Students. The GST @ 18% will be applicable on the Registration fee. The registration fee for Foreign nationals shall be USD 118 or INR 8,850/- (Foreign nationals will get 20% discount, if they are members of MoU Associations). Every five registration from one organization will entail one free registration from the same organization. He was previously the Head of Infrastructure and Urban Development at the World Economic Forum. Prof. Bühler has over 25 years of international, academic and professional experience in the construction, mining and real-estate industries.
