As conducted earlier, CSIR-SERC, Chennai, is conducting a three-day Advanced Course on 'Recent Advances in Concrete Technology and Durability of Concrete Structures 2026 (RACT & DCS 2026)' during 21-23, January 2026 at CSIR-SERC Campus as a part of Re-Skilling Programme. The primary objective of the course is to provide an opportunity for researchers, practising engineers, academicians and consultants, belonging to the public and private sector institutions, and other engineering professionals to familiarise themselves with the recent developments in concrete technology, durability related issues such as corrosion of reinforced concrete structures, condition assessment by non- destructive testing (NDT) and repair & rehabilitation. The course will cover various topics such as Special concretes viz foam concrete, ultra high performance concrete, geopolymer concrete, recycled concrete, concrete durability, durability of RC structures including underground concrete, recent advances in durability based service life design, microstructural characterisation techniques for cementitious composites, Nano-engineered electrically conductive composite, Health monitoring and performance evaluation of structures, Field experience and issues during concrete construction, Time dependent properties of fly ash concrete, and 3D printing of concrete.
