Repost from TARTARIA the truth
The October 1911 issue of "The Pathfinder" Newspaper News Magazine had in the scientific section, a weird photo and article on an automaton / robot named "Occultus" recently exhibited in Berlin by a man named Whitman.
1924 Whitman: "Radiomensch Occultus" is an entry under Regelsysteme/Automation in Mueller Science's table Vorläufer der Systemwissenschaft 1600- 1939.
It is purported that it could move like a human, speak, sing, even whistle.
the Syracuse Herald (USA) reported it in 1909.

Repost from TARTARIA HISPANICA
🇬🇧 Shchedrets
Shchedrets, or the Generous Evening, is a folk holiday of the Eastern Slavs. It is a kind of predecessor to the New Year, and many of its traditions are considered New Year's traditions today.
In the past, the Generous Evening was celebrated on December 31st. However, with the transition to the new calendar, the holiday was moved. Today, it is celebrated on the night between January 13th and 14th.
The exact date of Shchedrets' appearance is unknown, but it is safe to say that it is over a thousand years old, as it emerged even before the Christianization of Kievan Rus.
Like several other popular Slavic holidays, the Generous Evening did not disappear with the arrival of Christianity. Moreover, the Christian Church had to adapt to it. Therefore, a decision was made to establish an Orthodox holiday on this day: the feast day of Saint Melania, who lived in Rome during the fifth century.
Despite this decision, people continued to celebrate Shchedrets more actively, despite the Church's persecution of pagan holidays.
