Howdy pals, Here is a little tasty teaser for next week's podcast all about a topic I am well versed in, drugs! Get Thinking 1. What drugs are common where you live? 2. What drugs were you offered growing up? 3. Do you know where you can buy drugs now? 4. What are some legal and illegal drugs? 5. What are the effects of using different drugs? 6. What are the methods of using different drugs? 7. What are the dangers of some drugs? I feel this podcast is a public service announcement because as an English language instructor in Canada, I have met countless people who hold misconceptions about drugs. I am here to shed some light on those misconceptions and share the good news about drugs. Next week, I'll talk about the good, the bad, and the god damn ugly of different drugs (legal and illegal) as well as how you can use (the words!) in real life. Anyway, this is a taster for what's to come on next week's podcast. Enjoy, Ronan

Good morning folks, Want some real English? It wasn’t a bad gig | Idiom with Gig A gig is more or less a job or an entire situation which the job plays an important or large role in. In this video, I give examples of living and working in Norway, my first job in Kelowna, my time in Spain. It wasn’t a bad gig - Kelowna In this video, I speak about how my first job in Kelowna wasn’t a bad gig: - I woke up at 5am - I cycled to work at 5.30am - I started working at 2pm - I worked outdoors in the sun - I finished working at 2pm - I smoked a joint after work - I freewheeled down to the beach after work in the sun - I went for a swim Overall, it wasn’t a bad gig. I got paid money, I got exercise, I got my afternoons off, and I got to swim every day in the lake. What’s not to love?! It was a great gig - Norway When I lived and worked in Norway, it was a great gig. - I worked in a ski center - I had a sauna in my apartment - I got to ski for free - The work was easy and stress free - It was a great gig!

What’s happening my friends, Here is a short podcast taken from my class notes last week. We were speaking on the topic of restaurants and I’ve put together an audio of some of the key phrases or talking points. It just skims the surface but the talking points covered here are: - Price - Etiquette in Canada - Service - Location Let me know if ye got any questions, Ronan (I've gone down the rabbit hole on ways to talk about restaurants and tipping, guess the new podcast is writing itself more or less)

Well strangers, what’s happening? Use these phrases when you meet someone you haven’t met in a long time: - Look who finally decided to show up - Long time no see stranger - It’s been a hot minute - Look what the cat dragged in - Fancy seeing you here - Well I almost didn’t recognize you it’s been so long - Hey stranger, what’s happening? AWOL | Absent without leave If y'all got any requests, comments, or complaints please drop them in the comments. Like I say in the audio, I took time off but was crafting ideas and videos. Some of which include: - A hollywood - Folgers - Hell in a handbasket - Fuck you fuck + noun - Hacks & charlatans - Genocide - That morning shit - Weed - Euthanasia and much, much more. So, hit me up with whatever! Chat soon, Roooooooooooooooooan

What's happening strangers? I am back, I have been up to my tits in CELPIP and some other projects but now I'm back and raring to go! Well kinda, it's actually a long weekend here so I'm about to hit the road to visit some friends but I'll be back on Sunday and Monday creating more awesome content for y'all... in the meantime, I do have at least one new video for you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9csVzoaIRUM This one is about the lottery and I provide some links to interesting reads regarding the lottery. I think if you want to learn English, like real English, this is 10000% for you. I am using chat forums online, real news stories, and other relevant and authentic content to guide my sessions of The Chats. Even if you don't join The Chats, you should 100% check out this tutorial and the materials as they are online for free and in my humble opinion, useful as fuck! Anyway, hope to see some of you there and looking forward to getting back into Little Seal now that the dust has settled. Okay, time for me to hit the road. Enjoy the weekend, Rooooooooooonan

What is happening my English learning/speaking strangers! Well I have had a WONDERFUL break from reality for the past week and a bit and I am fully recharged and ready to grab life by the balls horns again! What's up? Well, I am currently dogsitting/housesitting for a buddy of mine and it has been exhausting but fun! This dog is gorgeous but a little high-maintenance. My wife and I took the dog on a little trip and learnt that he has car anxiety, that was NOT fun. However, we found ways to work around it and all will be shared in this weeks podcast. We went to a little place called Halfway Hot Springs. If you've been following my page for a while, you know I am a sucker for hot springs. These hot springs are certainly ranked up there in my top two favorite in Canada. Check out the pictures in the comments. Saw a mama grizzly bear and her cubs, they are the CUTEST things on earth. Two of her cubs were hanging on to her and the other was walking beside her. They were so freaking adorable. Needless to say, we wanted to stop the car, get out, and pet them. However, we kept driving as I don't think mama bear would appreciate it. The Chats This week i am hosting The Chats and we are talking about hostels. Honestly, if you want to practice your English in a fun, anxiety free, empowering, hilarious class, you should consider joining. All the info you need is at this link here (including sample materials): https://littlesealenglish.com/the-chats/the-chats. The work is not mandatory, but it's real English in use, no fake bullshit here. The materials are free to access, the class costs a tiny bit but we all gotta make cheese somehow! What else? Not much else, excited to get back on the horse and creating content after my little break. So much to catch up on. If y'all got any requests, hit me up! For now, I am going to relax, put my feet up, and get ready for another whirlwind semester at the college. Later, Ronan
