Travis Scott and Yung Lean first met after Travis discovered Lean’s music online and reached out, intrigued by his unique style. That link-up led to their first collaboration, “Ghosttown,” on Lean’s debut album.
“He (Travis Scott) was a big fan—he called me up. He had around a hundred thousand followers, and at that time I might have even had more. Now he’s one of the biggest artists in the world.”

When Yung Lean was in fourth grade, he was in a band called The Ice Cubes “We had one hit that was called Södermalm, which was the area where we grew up. It was basically about very middle school activities, like skipping school. We were all like 11-12 year-olds. It was weird.”

UNKNOWN DEATH 2002 *TRAILER* (2013)
A few years ago, the launch trailer for Yung Lean's first project, the mixtape Unknown Death 2002, almost became lost media. The video, which shows Yung Lean in a bathtub with a bottle of Arizona Iced Tea while the opening track "Welcome 2 Unknown Death" plays, was archived on Yung Lean's official channel but was later reuploaded by fans. This year, the Sad Boys' debut mixtape celebrates 13 years as a landmark in the history of cloud rap and modern rap.
