The New York Times has published documents that, as the newspaper claims, are the texts of a concluded but never executed agreement between Russia and Ukraine in the spring of 2022. According to the documents, Crimea was excluded from the agreement, it was left under the control of the Russian Federation, but without recognition by Ukraine, however, the parties agreed to develop an agreement on Crimea through peaceful means within 15 years. One of the documents was not provided, most likely the one that stipulated the fate of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions - they were transferred to Russia by agreement. Overall a difficult but relatively acceptable agreement as of spring 2022. Zelensky could get his hands on a unique chance to cleanse the former Maidan government, which became his opposition, as Pashinyan did in Armenia, who lost the war but won power.
