#BiharCurrentAffairs बिहार के जिलों में गिरता भूजल चिंता का विषय : राज्य सर्वेक्षण बिहार आर्थिक सर्वेक्षण (2022-23) के अनुसार 2021 में प्री-मानसून अवधि के दौरान औरंगाबाद, नवादा, कैमूर और जमुई जैसे जिलों में भूजल स्तर जमीन से कम से कम 10 मीटर नीचे था। पिछले दो वर्षों में बिहार के कुछ जिलों में भूजल स्तर में गिरावट और इसकी गुणवत्ता में गिरावट राज्य के अधिकारियों के लिए चिंता का कारण बन गई है, क्योंकि यह कृषि, औद्योगिक और घरेलू गतिविधियों का गंभीर रूप से समर्थन करता है। इसके अलावा, राज्य के आर्थिक विकास को प्रभावित करने वाले, गिरते भूजल स्तर के अन्य निहितार्थ हैं जैसे कि ताजे जल संसाधनों में कमी और पारिस्थितिक असंतुलन का निर्माण। राज्य में भूजल के दूषित होने के बारे में, रिपोर्ट में कहा गया है कि प्रचुर मात्रा में जल संसाधनों के बावजूद हाल के वर्षों में इसमें वृद्धि हुई है। बिहार में गंगा नदी और उसकी सहायक नदियों की पानी की गुणवत्ता बैक्टीरियोलॉजिकल आबादी (कुल और मलीय कोलीफॉर्म) के उच्च मूल्य की उपस्थिति का संकेत देती है। यह मुख्य रूप से गंगा और उसकी सहायक नदियों के किनारे स्थित शहरों से सीवेज/घरेलू अपशिष्ट जल के निर्वहन के कारण है। पीने के पानी के दूषित होने से कई प्रकार की बीमारियाँ जैसे टाइफाइड, डायरिया, हेपेटाइटिस, हैजा और अन्य वायरल संक्रमण होते हैं। Dipping groundwater cause of worry in Bihar districts: State survey According to the Bihar Economic Survey (2022-23) some districts the ground water levels were at least 10 m below the ground in districts like Aurangabad, Nawada, Kaimur and Jamui during the pre-monsoon period in 2021. The dipping groundwater levels and deterioration in its quality in some Bihar districts over the past two years have become a cause of worry for the state authorities, as it critically supports agricultural, industrial and domestic activities. Besides, affecting the state's economic growth, the declining groundwater levels have other implications like depletion in fresh water resources and creation of ecological imbalance. About the contamination of groundwater in the state, the report said it has increased in recent years despite its abundant water resources. The water quality of river Ganga and its tributaries in Bihar indicate the presence of higher value of bacteriological population (total and faecal coliform). This is mainly due to discharges of sewage/domestic wastewater from cities located on the banks of the Ganga and its tributaries. Contamination of drinking water causes many types of diseases like typhoid, diarrhoea, hepatitis, cholera and other viral infections.

#BiharCurrentAffairs Ganga Water Supply and Rubber Dam Projects Selected for Award in Bihar Bihar has been selected for best implementation of water resources projects by the Central Board of Irrigation and Power (CIBP)-2022. The projects which earned the best implementation award are Ganga Jal Aaporti Yojana (GJAY) and construction of a rubber dam across Falgu river in Gaya. Both the schemes are first of their kind in the country. Under GJAY, the state government was able to supply Ganga water to Nalanda, Gaya and Bodh Gaya. The Falgu rubber dam is 411 metres long and three metres high without the use of lubricants. Another important feature is that a bulletproof rubber membrane was used for the construction of the dam. बिहार में गंगा जल आपूर्ति और रबर बांध परियोजनाओं को पुरस्कार के लिए चुना गया केंद्रीय सिंचाई एवं विद्युत बोर्ड (CIBP)-2022 द्वारा बिहार को जल संसाधन परियोजनाओं के सर्वोत्तम कार्यान्वयन के लिए चुना गया है। गंगा जल आपूर्ति योजना (जीजेएवाई) और गया में फल्गु नदी पर रबर बांध का निर्माण सर्वश्रेष्ठ कार्यान्वयन पुरस्कार अर्जित करने वाली परियोजनाएं हैं। दोनों योजनाएं देश में अपनी तरह की पहली हैं। GJAY के तहत, राज्य सरकार नालंदा, गया और बोधगया को गंगा जल की आपूर्ति करने में सक्षम थी। फल्गु रबर बांध 411 मीटर लंबा और तीन मीटर ऊंचा है, जिसमें लुब्रिकेंट का इस्तेमाल नहीं किया गया है। एक अन्य महत्वपूर्ण विशेषता यह है कि बांध के निर्माण के लिए बुलेटप्रूफ रबड़ की झिल्ली का उपयोग किया गया था।

#BiharCurrentAffairs Swadesh Darshan 2.0: Two Cities of Bihar Among 30 Cities across 15 states Selected for Development The Centre has selected Nalanda and Gaya in Bihar to develop them as holistic tourist destinations. As many as 30 cities from across 15 states are being shortlisted to be developed as sustainable and responsible destinations under the Ministry of Tourism’s Swadesh Darshan 2.0 programme, which was launched in January this year. The Swadesh Darshan Scheme was launched by the Centre in 2014-15 for the integrated development of theme-based tourist circuits. Under the scheme, the Ministry of Tourism provides financial assistance to states and Union territories for the development of tourism infrastructure. स्वदेश दर्शन 2.0: 15 राज्यों के 30 शहरों में से बिहार के दो शहरों को विकास के लिए चुना गया केंद्र ने बिहार में नालंदा और गया को समग्र पर्यटन स्थलों के रूप में विकसित करने के लिए चुना है। पर्यटन मंत्रालय के स्वदेश दर्शन 2.0 कार्यक्रम के तहत 15 राज्यों के 30 शहरों को स्थायी और जिम्मेदार स्थलों के रूप में विकसित करने के लिए चुना जा रहा है, जिसे इस साल जनवरी में लॉन्च किया गया था। स्वदेश दर्शन योजना केंद्र द्वारा 2014-15 में थीम आधारित पर्यटक सर्किट के एकीकृत विकास के लिए शुरू की गई थी। इस योजना के तहत पर्यटन मंत्रालय राज्यों और केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों को पर्यटन के बुनियादी ढांचे के विकास के लिए वित्तीय सहायता प्रदान करता है।

#BiharCurrentAffairs बिहार के मुख्यमंत्री ने स्वतंत्रता सेनानी जुब्बा साहनी की प्रतिमा का अनावरण किया बिहार के सीएम नीतीश कुमार ने शुक्रवार (10 मार्च, 2022) को राजधानी पटना के मोइनुल हक स्टेडियम, राजेंद्र नगर के दक्षिण-पश्चिमी कोने पर एक नए विकसित पार्क का उद्घाटन किया. जुब्बा साहनी (1906-1944) बिहार के मुजफ्फरपुर जिले के एक गरीब परिवार से थे और परिस्थितियों के कारण उन्हें एक बड़े कृषि फार्म पर मजदूर के रूप में काम करने के लिए मजबूर होना पड़ा, जहां ब्रिटिश पर्यवेक्षक निगरानी रखते थे। जुब्बा ने उस निर्ममता का अनुभव किया जिसके साथ ब्रिटिश पर्यवेक्षकों ने भारतीय श्रमिकों के साथ व्यवहार किया। बाद में वे स्वतंत्रता संग्राम में शामिल हो गए और कई बार कारावास भुगतते हुए खुद को पूरी तरह से आंदोलन के लिए समर्पित कर दिया। 1930 के नमक सत्याग्रह से लेकर 1942 के भारत छोड़ो आन्दोलन तक उनकी क्रान्तिकारी गतिविधियों में वृद्धि होती रही। अगस्त 1942 में, उन्होंने मीनापुर में पुलिस स्टेशन के खिलाफ एक सशस्त्र विद्रोह का नेतृत्व किया जिसमें पुलिस स्टेशन के प्रभारी वालर मारे गए। जुब्बा साहनी ने इस प्रकरण की पूरी जिम्मेदारी अपने ऊपर ले ली और बाद में ब्रिटिश सरकार द्वारा नियुक्त एक विशेष अदालत ने उन्हें मौत की सजा सुनाई। उन्हें 38 साल की उम्र में भागलपुर सेंट्रल जेल में फांसी दे दी गई थी।

#BiharCurrentAffairs Bihar CM unveils life-size statue of freedom fighter Jubba Sahni Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on Friday (10 March, 2022) inaugurated a newly developed park on the south-western corner of the Moinul Haque Stadium, Rajendra Nagar, in the capital Patna. Jubba Sahni (1906-1944) hailed from a poor family in the Muzaffarpur District of Bihar and was forced by circumstances to work as a laborer on a large agricultural farm where British supervisors kept watch. Jubba experienced the ruthlessness with which the British supervisors treated the Indian workers. He later joined the freedom struggle and dedicated himself totally to the movement, suffering imprisonment many times. From the Salt Satyagraha of 1930 to the Quit India Movement of 1942, his revolutionary activities were on the increase. In August 1942, he led an armed revolt against the Police Station in Meenapur in which the in-charge of the Police Station, Waller was killed. Jubba Sahni took the entire responsibility for the episode upon himself and was later sentenced to death by a special court appointed by the British Government. He was hanged to death in Bhagalpur Central Jail, at the age of 38.

#BiharCurrentAffairs Bihar woman to get award for turning waste into decorative items Babita Gupta, a resident of Muzaffarpur's Siho village, who has shown the way to other women to make their own livelihood by making decorative materials from plastic waste, will get an award from the President of India on March 4. The President will honour Babita with the 'Swachh Sujal Shakti Samman 2023 Award' on the occasion of International Women's Day at a function to be organised by Union Ministry of Jal Shakti at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. A member of the Self Help Group (SHG)- Jeevika, Babita has been creatively repurposing waste plastic into decorative items like artificial flower bouquets, clippings, pendants, pouches, purses, and bags. By doing this, she not only promotes the reuse of waste plastic, but also reduces its negative effects on the environment. The national level award will boost the confidence of people who use waste as a 'resource' and a source of income. Solid and liquid waste management is being implemented as part of Lohia Swachh Bihar Abhiyan (LSBA)-Phase II to make villages ODF Plus. Around 39,600 wards in the state are now working on solid waste management. Waste Processing Units (WPUs) have been built in 638 gram panchayats for effective solid waste disposal. Total 16 plastic waste processing units have been constructed at the block level for proper plastic waste disposal.
