01 🌙 THE FIRST TEN DAYS OF DHUL HIJJAH - SERIES 🌙
PART 1️⃣
✳️ DAYS of VIRTUE
and RIGHTEOUS deeds. ✳️
🎓 Ibn Rajab Rahimahullaah, in his monumental work (al-Lataa’if,p.8) wrote,
"Praise be to Allaah Who has Created Time and Has made SOME times BETTER than others, some months and days and nights better than others, when REWARDS are MULTIPLIED many times, as a mercy towards His slaves. This encourages them to do MORE RIGHTEOUS deeds and makes them more EAGER to worship Him, so that the Muslim RENEWS his efforts to gain a greater share of reward, prepare himself for death and supply himself in readiness for the Day of Judgement.
This season of worship brings many benefits, such as the opportunity to CORRECT one’s FAULTS and make up for any SHORTCOMINGS or anything that one might have missed. Every one of these special occasions INVOLVES some kind of WORSHIP through which the slaves may draw CLOSER to ALLAAH, and some kind of blessing though which Allaah bestows His favour and mercy upon whomsoever He will. The HAPPY person is the one who makes the MOST of these SPECIAL months, DAYS and hours and draws nearer to his Lord during these times through acts of worship; he will most likely be TOUCHED by the BLESSING of Allaah and will feel the joy of knowing that he is SAFE from the FLAMES of Hell.
➡️ One such season which is going to start soon in sha Allaah is the "First Ten Days of Dhul Hijjah."
Dhul Hijjah is in the middle of the three Consecutive SACRED Months from the four about which Allaah SubhaanaHu wa Ta'ala said,
."أَرْبَعَةٌ حُرُمٌ"

13 The Different Types of Hearts
Types of Hearts
There are three main types of hearts:
1 - A Sound & Healthy Heart:
A sound and healthy heart is that which is attached to Allāh alone. A person with a true and sincere heart will:
• Rely, love and hope in Allāh.
• Forgive people for the sake of Allāh.
• Control anger and desires for the sake of Allāh.
• Be humble and kind with parents, spouse, friends, children for the sake of Allāh.
• And all other praiseworthy traits of the heart.
2 - A Dead Heart:
A dead heart is the opposite of a healthy heart. It does everything to please itself. It is slave of its own desires. If money is what a person with a dead heart desires, then he becomes a slave of money. He does everything and anything for the sake of earning money irrespective of whether it is earned in a Halāl or Harām way.
3 - A Sick Heart:
A sick heart swings between a healthy and a dead heart. This person has love for Allāh, faith in his heart, sincerity towards his duties but at the same time, also loves his desires and prefers them.

- Memorise the following supplications:
اللهُمَّ طَهِّرْ قَلْبِي مِنْ كُلِّ سُوْءٍ
“O Allāh purify my heart from every evil.”
اللهُمَّ طَهِّرْ قَلْبِي مِنْ كُلِّ خُلُقٍ لا يُرْضِيْكَ
“O Allāh, purify my heart from every characteristic that is not pleasing to You”
اللهُمَّ طَهِّرْ قَلْبِي مِنَ الغِلِّ والحِقْدِ والحَسَدِ والكِبْرِ
“O Allāh, purify my heart from hatred, resentment, jealousy, and arrogance.”

14 حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي شَقِيقٌ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ حُذَيْفَةَ، قَالَ كُنَّا جُلُوسًا عِنْدَ عُمَرَ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ فَقَالَ أَيُّكُمْ يَحْفَظُ قَوْلَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فِي الْفِتْنَةِ قُلْتُ أَنَا، كَمَا قَالَهُ. قَالَ إِنَّكَ عَلَيْهِ ـ أَوْ عَلَيْهَا ـ لَجَرِيءٌ. قُلْتُ " فِتْنَةُ الرَّجُلِ فِي أَهْلِهِ وَمَالِهِ وَوَلَدِهِ وَجَارِهِ تُكَفِّرُهَا الصَّلاَةُ وَالصَّوْمُ وَالصَّدَقَةُ وَالأَمْرُ وَالنَّهْىُ ". قَالَ لَيْسَ هَذَا أُرِيدُ، وَلَكِنِ الْفِتْنَةُ الَّتِي تَمُوجُ كَمَا يَمُوجُ الْبَحْرُ. قَالَ لَيْسَ عَلَيْكَ مِنْهَا بَأْسٌ يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ، إِنَّ بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَهَا بَابًا مُغْلَقًا. قَالَ أَيُكْسَرُ أَمْ يُفْتَحُ قَالَ يُكْسَرُ. قَالَ إِذًا لاَ يُغْلَقَ أَبَدًا. قُلْنَا أَكَانَ عُمَرُ يَعْلَمُ الْبَابَ قَالَ نَعَمْ، كَمَا أَنَّ دُونَ الْغَدِ اللَّيْلَةَ، إِنِّي حَدَّثْتُهُ بِحَدِيثٍ لَيْسَ بِالأَغَالِيطِ. فَهِبْنَا أَنْ نَسْأَلَ حُذَيْفَةَ، فَأَمَرْنَا مَسْرُوقًا فَسَأَلَهُ فَقَالَ الْبَابُ عُمَرُ.
Narrated Shaqiq:
that he had heard Hudhaifa saying, "Once I was sitting with Umar and he said, 'Who amongst you
remembers the statement of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) about the afflictions?' I said, 'I know it as the Prophet (ﷺ) had
said it.' Umar said, 'No doubt you are bold.' I said, 'The afflictions caused for a man by his wife,
money, children and neighbor are expiated by his prayers, fasting, charity and by enjoining (what is
good) and forbidding (what is evil).' Umar said, 'I did not mean that but I asked about that affliction
which will spread like the waves of the sea.' I (Hudhaifa) said, 'O leader of the faithful believers! You
need not be afraid of it as there is a closed door between you and it.' Umar asked, Will the door be
broken or opened?' I replied, 'It will be broken.' Umar said, 'Then it will never be closed again.' I was
asked whether Umar knew that door. I replied that he knew it as one knows that there will be night
before the tomorrow morning. I narrated a Hadith that was free from any misstatement" The subnarrator
added that they deputized Masruq to ask Hudhaifa (about the door). Hudhaifa said, "The door
was `Umar himself."

“I have not left a trial after me more harmful to men than women."

"Verily the worldly life is sweet and green, and verily Allaah is going to place you as successors upon it in order to see how you act. So be mindful of the dunyah and be mindful of women; verily the first trial for the Children of Israel was caused by women."

19 No disaster strikes expect by the permission of Allah, And whoever believes in Allah, He will guide his heart.
Quran: 64:11
This ayah means that whoever suffered an affliction and knew that it occurred by Allaah’s judgment and decree, and he patiently abides, awaiting Allah’s reward, then Allah will guide his heart, and will compensate him for his loss in this life by granting guidance to his heart and certainty in faith. 21 حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ، حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ أَبِي هِنْدٍ، حَدَّثَنِي النُّعْمَانُ بْنُ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَوْسٍ، عَنْ عَنْبَسَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ أُمِّ حَبِيبَةَ، قَالَتْ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم " مَنْ صَلَّى فِي يَوْمٍ ثِنْتَىْ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً تَطَوُّعًا بُنِيَ لَهُ بِهِنَّ بَيْتٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ " .
Narrated Umm Habibah:The Prophet (ﷺ) as saying: If anyone prays in a day and a night twelve rak'ahs voluntarily (supererogatory prayer), a house will be built from him in Paradise on account of these (rak'ahs)

قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : أكبر الكبائر الإشراك بالله وقتل النفس وعقوق الوالدين وشهادة الزور
The Messenger of Allāh Ṣallallāhu-'Alaihi Wa Sallam said:
“The greatest of major sins are:
• To join others (in worship) with Allāh (Shirk)
• And to kill a soul (which is forbidden by Allāh to kill)
• And to be undutiful towards the parents
• And to bear false witness.”

23 Prophet ﷺ said,
I certainly know people of my nation who will come on the Day of Resurrection with good deeds like the mountains of Tihamah, but Allāh will make them like scattered dust.
Thawban رضي الله عنه said:
O Messenger of Allāh ﷺ, describe them to us and tell us more, so that we will not become of them unknowingly.
He ﷺ said:
They are your brothers and from your race, worshipping at night as you do, but they will be people who, when they are alone, transgress the sacred limits of Allāh.

24 حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ، عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، أَنَّ أَبَا مُرَّةَ، مَوْلَى عَقِيلِ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ أَخْبَرَهُ عَنْ أَبِي وَاقِدٍ اللَّيْثِيِّ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم بَيْنَمَا هُوَ جَالِسٌ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ وَالنَّاسُ مَعَهُ، إِذْ أَقْبَلَ ثَلاَثَةُ نَفَرٍ، فَأَقْبَلَ اثْنَانِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَذَهَبَ وَاحِدٌ، قَالَ فَوَقَفَا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَأَمَّا أَحَدُهُمَا فَرَأَى فُرْجَةً فِي الْحَلْقَةِ فَجَلَسَ فِيهَا، وَأَمَّا الآخَرُ فَجَلَسَ خَلْفَهُمْ، وَأَمَّا الثَّالِثُ فَأَدْبَرَ ذَاهِبًا، فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " أَلاَ أُخْبِرُكُمْ عَنِ النَّفَرِ الثَّلاَثَةِ أَمَّا أَحَدُهُمْ فَأَوَى إِلَى اللَّهِ، فَآوَاهُ اللَّهُ، وَأَمَّا الآخَرُ فَاسْتَحْيَا، فَاسْتَحْيَا اللَّهُ مِنْهُ، وَأَمَّا الآخَرُ فَأَعْرَضَ، فَأَعْرَضَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ".
Narrated Abu Waqid Al-Laithi:
While Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was sitting in the mosque with some people, three men came. Two of them
came in front of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and the third one went away. The two persons kept on standing
before Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) for a while and then one of them found a place in the circle and sat there while
the other sat behind the gathering, and the third one went away. When Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) finished his
preaching, he said, "Shall I tell you about these three persons? One of them betook himself to Allah,
so Allah took him into His grace and mercy and accommodated him, the second felt shy from Allah,
so Allah sheltered Him in His mercy (and did not punish him), while the third turned his face from
Allah and went away, so Allah turned His face from him likewise. "

الصِّيَامُ جُنَّةٌ، فَلاَ يَرْفُثْ وَلاَ يَجْهَلْ، وَإِنِ امْرُؤٌ قَاتَلَهُ أَوْ شَاتَمَهُ فَلْيَقُلْ إِنِّي صَائِمٌ. مَرَّتَيْنِ، وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَخُلُوفُ فَمِ الصَّائِمِ أَطْيَبُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى مِنْ رِيحِ الْمِسْكِ، يَتْرُكُ طَعَامَهُ وَشَرَابَهُ وَشَهْوَتَهُ مِنْ أَجْلِي، الصِّيَامُ لِي، وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ، وَالْحَسَنَةُ بِعَشْرِ أَمْثَالِهَا
Narrated Abu Huraira:
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Fasting is a shield (or a screen or a shelter). So, the person observing fasting should avoid sexual relation with his wife and should not behave foolishly and impudently, and if somebody fights with him or abuses him, he should tell him twice, 'I am fasting." The Prophet (ﷺ) added, "By Him in Whose Hands my soul is, the smell coming out from the mouth of a fasting person is better in the sight of Allah than the smell of musk. (Allah says about the fasting person), 'He has left his food, drink and desires for My sake. The fast is for Me. So I will reward (the fasting person) for it and the reward of good deeds is multiplied ten times."

31 Entry into jannah is conditioned with trials.... It is not going to be a journey with ease. These trials will be different for each one of us, just like they were different for Bilal, Abu Bakr, Sumayyah, Ali or any of the other companions, may Allah be pleased with all of them
Similarly, Allah’s victory is a promise and will surely come. But trials will come before it, as they came with previous ummahs. These trials do prepare the ummah for being able to bear the responsibility of the change. Because in Islam ruling is a huge responsibility, and not a matter of superiority, as understood in today's political setup.
May Allah keep us safe from trials, but if confronted, may Allah keep us strong and steadfast
أَمْ حَسِبْتُمْ أَن تَدْخُلُوا الْجَنَّةَ وَلَمَّا يَأْتِكُم مَّثَلُ الَّذِينَ خَلَوْا مِن قَبْلِكُم مَّسَّتْهُمُ الْبَأْسَاءُ وَالضَّرَّاءُ وَزُلْزِلُوا حَتَّىٰ يَقُولَ الرَّسُولُ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مَعَهُ مَتَىٰ نَصْرُ اللَّهِ أَلَا إِنَّ نَصْرَ اللَّهِ قَرِيبٌ
Do you think that you will enter Paradise without such (trials) as came to those who passed away before you? They were afflicted with severe poverty and ailments and were so shaken that even the Messenger and those who believed along with him said, "When (will come) the Help of Allah?" Yes! and RIGHTEOUS deeds. ✳️
🎓 Ibn Rajab Rahimahullaah, in his monumental work (al-Lataa’if,p.8) wrote,
"Praise be to Allaah Who has Created Time and Has made SOME times BETTER than others, some months and days and nights better than others, when REWARDS are MULTIPLIED many times, as a mercy towards His slaves. This encourages them to do MORE RIGHTEOUS deeds and makes them more EAGER to worship Him, so that the Muslim RENEWS his efforts to gain a greater share of reward, prepare himself for death and supply himself in readiness for the Day of Judgement.
This season of worship brings many benefits, such as the opportunity to CORRECT one’s FAULTS and make up for any SHORTCOMINGS or anything that one might have missed. Every one of these special occasions INVOLVES some kind of WORSHIP through which the slaves may draw CLOSER to ALLAAH, and some kind of blessing though which Allaah bestows His favour and mercy upon whomsoever He will. The HAPPY person is the one who makes the MOST of these SPECIAL months, DAYS and hours and draws nearer to his Lord during these times through acts of worship; he will most likely be TOUCHED by the BLESSING of Allaah and will feel the joy of knowing that he is SAFE from the FLAMES of Hell.
➡️ One such season which is going to start soon in sha Allaah is the "First Ten Days of Dhul Hijjah."
Dhul Hijjah is in the middle of the three Consecutive SACRED Months from the four about which Allaah SubhaanaHu wa Ta'ala said,
."أَرْبَعَةٌ حُرُمٌ"
