La commemorazione pubblica in Serbia del generale Ratko Mladić, ex comandante dell'esercito serbo-bosniaco, deceduto in prigione all'Aia il 27 agosto, potrebbe avere un impatto negativo sulle relazioni tra Belgrado e l'Unione Europea, ha dichiarato Marta Košč, commissaria europea per l'allargamento, a Politico.
"Non c'è spazio per la glorificazione di criminali di guerra. Questo è in forte contrasto con i valori europei ed è inaccettabile non solo nei paesi membri dell'UE, ma anche nei paesi candidati",
ha affermato.
Ha sottolineato che, per la Serbia, "c'è sicuramente un posto nell'UE", ma che per l'adesione all'unione non sono sufficienti le riforme.
