American Councils for International Education is a premier, international non-profit organization creating educational opportunities that prepare individuals and institutions to succeed in an increasingly interconnected world. Through academic exchanges, overseas language immersion, and educational development programs, American Councils has designed and administered innovative programs that broaden individual perspectives, increase knowledge and deepen understanding for more than 40 years across more than 80 countries. The English Access Microscholarship Program (Access) is a student-centered program sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and U.S. Embassies that provides English language skills to underserved students (primarily 13-20 years old) worldwide through extracurricular classes and activities. Access provides participants with a foundation of English language, leadership and professional skills, and exposure to U.S. culture and democratic values that may lead to better jobs and educational prospects, including future exchanges and study in the United States. The global Access Program has provided scholarships to more than 200,000 students in over 80 countries since its inception in 2004. In Uzbekistan, the English Access Microscholarship Program has operated continuously since 2007, both as the English Access Microscholarship Program and as the English Access for STEM Program. There are currently 18 Access sites across nine regions and Karakalpakstan – several of which have operated since the beginning of the Access program in Uzbekistan. American Councils currently serves as the primary implementing partner for the Access program in Uzbekistan. American Councils is currently soliciting for an open teacher position at Qarshi State University. Access Teachers are the heart of the Access program, engaging high-achieving, underserved youth as they study English, American Culture, and digital skills, as well as engage in personal and professional development. Access teachers are responsible for delivering regular Access lessons to program participants, as well as conducting enhancement activities and intensive sessions, as required. Application for ESN Silk Road Conference is Now Open! 📌The ESN Silk Road Conference is a set of nationwide conferences with more than 1000 presenters and participants to be held in seven cities of Silk Road, particularly in Nukus, Bukhara, Samarkand, Gulistan, Namangan, Fergana and Tashkent city. The conference provides the opportunity for ESN participants to demonstrate effective pedagogical practices gained through the ESN program, expand ESN's community of practice, and share learner-centered teaching ideas. 🌠Through a robust conference, English teachers will share variety of teaching practice and experience such as Learner-Centered Teaching, Student Assessment, Student Motivation, Community of Practice, Peer Training & Mentoring, Digital Learning and other. 📌On August 21, Cohort lll Community of Practice (CoP) Cascade sessions have been launched across Uzbekistan. More than 350 Core Trainers (CTs) and Regional Peer Mentors (RPMs) conduct CoP sessions with more than 4700 Mentees within six days in August, 2023. These daily sessions will serve as a forum for CTs and RPMs to facilitate meetings with Mentees, providing opportunities to enhance each other's professional development by sharing resources and teaching strategies. ✨Congratulations on the start of Cohort lll CoP! ESN:ESET training occurred in Angren from June 19 to July 8 at a specialized school where 4 of the most experienced American English Teacher Experts – Yuta Otake, Colleen Loboy, Laura Searcy, Austin Wilson, and 3 Assistant Teachers from Angren - Jasur Khasanov, Gulnura Rafikova and Sultan Atabaev worked on provision of minimal language skills and opportunity to increase the proficiency of 52 school teachers of English from Tashkent region. ✨Quote from Angren participant: “ESET means a lot to me.
