Our discussions reaffirmed Mumbai’s and Maharashtra as a premier investment destination, with a particular focus on the vast potential within manufacturing and the emerging thematic hubs of EduCity and MediCity. The recent visit of the Hon Prime Minister of the UK, Mr. Keir Starmer, to Mumbai enabled meaningful dialogue with industry leaders, which is now translating into promising investment avenues. By institutionalising structured engagements between the world cities ‘Mumbai and London’, a platform will be provided for industry leaders to identify and implement concrete steps that drive innovation and prosperity for both nations through the India–UK Free Trade Agreement. I was glad to know from the Lady Mayor that, "London is uniquely placed to support the ambition - mobilizing long term global capital, sharing expertise in infrastructure and sustainable finance, and acting as a trusted gateway for Maharashtra businesses seeking to scale internationally. CMO Maharashtra Tweets: 🤝 CM Devendra Fadnavis presided over the signing and exchange of a revised MoU between the Government of Maharashtra (Water Resources Department) and National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC) for the development of Pumped Storage Projects (PSPs). Key features of the revised MoU: ✅ Revision to the original MoU signed on 03.09.2024 ✅ Increase in project capacity following detailed surveys and technical analysis ✅ Revised approval in accordance with the recommendations of the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) 🔸 Project Details: ▪️ Amba Pumped Storage Project (PSP) 📍 Maval, Pune (Upper Reservoir) / Raigad (Lower Reservoir) ✅ Previous installed capacity – 800 MW ✅ Revised capacity – 1500 MW ✅ Capacity enhancement – (+) 700 MW ▪️ Kumbhe Pumped Storage Project (PSP) 📍 Mangaon, Raigad (Upper Reservoir / Lower Reservoir) ✅ Previous installed capacity – 1000 MW ✅ Revised capacity – 1100 MW ✅ Capacity enhancement – (+) 100 MW 🔸Total capacity enhancement – (+) 800 MW 🔸Total installed capacity – 2600 MW Under this agreement, a total power generation capacity of 82,015 MW is now expected through 60 pumped storage projects, bringing an estimated investment of nearly ₹4.28 lakh crore and creating around 1.31 lakh employment opportunities.
