The sparrow fell silent. He stopped fighting. He began to groom himself, calm his heart, and change. And as he changed — his reflection changed too. The mirror never lied. It simply waited for him to grow.
Habits are not who we are — they are what we have allowed to become comfortable. They are the invisible chains we build one small choice at a time. When someone or something holds up a mirror and shows us our laziness, our anger, our excuses, our delays — we do not get angry at the mirror. We get angry at the truth it reveals.
Truth is never an enemy. It is a mercy sent to wake us up. Bad habits are not meant to be feared — they are meant to be replaced. You cannot defeat what you refuse to acknowledge. The first step toward change is not resistance — it is honest, unflinching acceptance of where you stand.
Do not waste your energy fighting the one who corrects you. That person is your greatest teacher. Instead, fight the habit that keeps you small. Every time you choose discipline over laziness, patience over anger, action over delay — you are rewriting your own reflection. Change does not happen overnight, but it begins the moment you stop fighting the light and start walking toward it. The world will shine for you — only when you first shine within yourself.
في صباح هادئ، وجد عصفور صغير مرآة. رأى انعكاسه فظنّه طائرًا آخر، وغضب فهاجمها ينقرُ الزجاج ويرفرف بعنف. كلما حارب، ازداد انعكاسه وضوحًا ليرى ريشه المُشعث وقلقه.
قالت له بومة حكيمة بهدوء: «أنت لا تحارب طائرًا آخر… أنت تحارب عاداتك. المرآة تُريك الحقيقة — لا لتؤذيك، بل لتُصلحك»
سكت العصفور. توقف. بدأ يُرتب نفسه ويهدأ ويصبر. وتغير انعكاسه لأنه هو الذي تغير. المرآة لم تتغير… بل هو من أصبح أفضل.
✋🏾 العادات ليست جوهرك… بل هي ما اعتدتَ عليه حتى أصبح جزءًا منك. هي سلاسل خفيفة لا نشعر بها في البداية، حتى تصبح ثقيلة جدًا يصعب كسرها. عندما يُريك أحدٌ أو شيءٌ عيوبك — لا تغضب. فأنت لا تغضب من المرآة لأنها تُريك الحقيقة، بل تغضب لأنك كنتَ تُخفيها عن نفسك.
الحقيقة رحمةٌ لا نقمة. والمنصفون هم مرايا نقاءٍ تُريك وجهك الحقيقي لكي تُصلحه، لا لكي تُحطمه. لا تُحارب من أهداك بصيرتك… بل حارب العادة التي أعمَتْكَ طويلًا. التغيير لا يبدأ بصرخة غضب… بل بنظرةٍ صادقةٍ إلى نفسك تقول: هذا أنا اليوم، وسأكون أفضل غدًا.
لا تكسِر المرآة لأنها تُريك العيب… بل أصلِح العيب لكي تُعجبَ بالصورة. لا يوجد عادةٌ أقوى من إرادة التغيير. كل خطوة صغيرة نحو الصلاح هي نصرٌ عظيم على النفس. وغدًا سوف تُنظر إلى المرآة بفخرٍ… لأنك سترى إنسانًا قد تكلَّمَ بفعله، لا بلسانه. فابدأ من نفسك… فإن أصلحته، أصلح الله لك كل شيء..
