| 9 | GIVING ADD ON CARD??
If you give an add-on credit card, remember—control may look shared, but responsibility stays with you. The bank tracks your repayment behaviour, and even one delay can quietly pull down your credit score.
Take a simple example: You have a ₹2 lakh limit and give an add-on card to your brother. He spends ₹80,000, you spend ₹70,000—total ₹1.5 lakh. Now your utilisation is 75%. Even if you pay on time, this high usage signals risk to lenders.
Now imagine one month he assumes you paid, and you assume he did. One missed due date—and your score takes the hit, not his.
Use add-on cards where there is clarity on “who spends, who pays, and how much.” Otherwise, let each person build their own credit discipline.
