59 years ago today, the USS Liberty was attacked by Israeli aircraft and torpedo boats. The attack killed 34 crew members and wounded 171. This is a serious body count for a friendly fire incident. A USS Liberty lifeboat is currently displayed at the Israeli Naval Museum in Haifa. War trophy? Apology? Make of it what you will, but this lifeboat is sitting there as you’re reading this. The lifeboat has visible bullet holes.

Happy Killdozer Day. In the early 2000’s the city of Granby, CO approved construction of a concrete factory in the vicinity of Marvin Heemeyer’s muffler shop. This blocked the only access road to his business. Marvin petitioned to stop the construction. He petitioned to construct a new access road, he even bought the heavy machinery to do so himself. The city denied all of his requests. He exhausted every legal recourse. His business and livelihood were in ruin. On June 4th 2004 Marvin fought back. He outfitted a bulldozer with 3-foot thick steel and concrete armor, camera systems, and enclosed bulletproof glass. Over the course of several hours, Marvin drove his Killdozer through thirteen buildings owned by those same officials who had unjustly destroyed his business, including the city council building itself. In the end, Marvin's Killdozer became trapped in one of the buildings it was built to destroy. Marvin chose to take his life, the only life he took that day.

Henry Nowak was stabbed five times and left in handcuffs by police to bleed to death because his attacker claimed that Henry was a racist. He was killed by a Sikh ceremonial dagger, a knife which Henry would never be allowed to carry in public as a native born Englishman, but a Sikh can carry in Henry’s own country because of religious purposes. In some online spaces of the dissident right, one can find criticisms of non-white ethnicities. Some of it is deserved, some of it is not. We will tell the critics of non-whites one thing: Blacks would never stand for this if Henry was black. They would burn that police precinct to the ground. Jews would never stand for this if Henry was Jewish. The IDF would level the entire Sikh neighborhood. Muslims would never stand for this if Henry was Muslim. There would be a Jihad. What are the English going to do? What would Americans do? They will have a candlelight vigil and ask that Henry’s death not be used to create further division, hatred or tension, which is exactly what Henry’s father said. Has this rhetoric ever solved the problem? Or is it time to adopt tactics others have used? Tactics that have produced results. The English didn’t ask for this. Undoubtedly they want a world where candlelight vigils fix such problems and no one ever has to get hurt. That world is a fantasy, not a reality. In the real world riots cause police departments to kneel and they cause sports teams, politicians, corporations and media figures to “say his name”. Violence transcends all cultures, customs, traditions and religions. Violence is the universal language. Everyone understands violence. We pray violence is never the only answer. Unfortunately, sometimes violence is the final answer. The west must re-learn this, and learn it quickly.
